Some weeks passed and LiCu is ready to be discharged, the doctors are satisfied with the progress of his recovery no signs of possible complications are seen ,he's all ready to just go home and get out of the hospital
Though as he sat on his wheelchair waiting for PangZi to pull up the van and Zhang Qiling packing up the bags, he can't help but feel nervous, both the thought of coming back home and sitting inside a van is making him clench his hands
"It's okay YaLi, we'll be okay" came WuXie's voice, he can feel the man placing his hand on his shoulder
He looked at the WuXie then at Zhang Qiling and then at PangZi who just rolled down the driver seat window and gave him a thumbs up
Then he took a deep breath
"Let's go home"
Quiet and WuShanju will never coexist in one sentence, as the moment WuXie wheeled LiCu in
Confetti poppers and a burst of "WELCOME HOME" greets them
"You guys…" LiCu utters, he should've known they'll plan something like a surprise welcome home party, now he's all but a crying mess again
"Ah! Don't cry YaLi!" Kanjian immediately reached out to give him tissues
LiCu reaches out for them and tries to wipe his cheeks and eyes, as he scans for everyone…
Kanjian and Liu Sang are both okay, SuWan and Yang Hao are alive and well, Wang Meng, Jiale, Kezi and Haotian are also healthy and then WuXie, XiaoGe and PangZi, Nai Nai and Ershu
Despite what happened, despite the pain, the trauma… All of them are alive
And through tears and hiccups LiCu musters up the brightest smile
"I'M HOME!"
The party is at its peak, everyone are having fun, eating and exchanging mics in the karaoke
LiCu though on his wheelchair was having the time of his life filling his stomach of all the food he missed eating, he's been waiting for the right time as well
After all, he too has a surprise for everyone
And after all the skewers and waiting he found the best time…
Wuxie sat silent at one of the stone benches, the high of merry making and singing simmering down into a fond, warm feeling as he looked at those still in the midst of partying
"Tired?" Something cold touches his cheek and he looks up to see XiaoGe pressing a can of soft drink on his face with a little mirth in his eyes
WuXie smiles bashfully as he took the can and the other man sits beside him
"I guess, but it's the good type of tired, A happy kind of tired"
He felt XiaoGe's hand took his and they enjoy a comfortable silence
"WUXIE!LAO-ZHANG! " they both hear LiCu calling, he was wheeled by SuWan alongside Yanghao and it's also not long until everyone's attention was at him
Both WuXie and XiaoGe stood up and WuXie was about to walk closer but then LiCu raises his hand signalling him to stay where he is
Gasps and Surprised sounds filled as LiCu slowly stood on wobbly legs, took a little time to steady himself and slowly walked toward WuXie and XiaoGe
WuXie was glued on his spot eyes only on LiCu who's walking towards him, eyes shining with pride as he took small steps, when he reached the two of them he stumbled a bit and both men immediately moved to catch LiCu, steadying him again
"You can walk, without support!" WuXie says
"Surprise?" LiCu sheepishly and nervously smiles at both of them
"Oh my god YaLi!" WuXie pulls him into a hug
"Y…YALI!!!" he hears everyone and almost felt himself get crushed as everyone dove for a group hug
His heart swells and once again almost cried
I'm glad I never gave up, I'm happy I'm still here
