EXCUSE ANY ERRORS."... I know this may seem weird and.. awkward, nonetheless and hell I may even be overstepping my boundaries here but I just — I needed to see you, Roman, okay? I needed to see you."
"I ain't gon' lie to you Tiffany," He inhaled and exhaled sharply while shaking his head quietly,"dat' shit just don't sit right. Last time we seen each otha' you made it clear you ain't eva' wanna' see my black ass again."
"Roman I was upset, I was grieving, and you know how I am when I'm upset I say things that I always end up regretting later," She tried laughing it off but quickly silenced herself when she realized Roman wasn't amused at all. "Yea, dat's always been a problem of yours."
"I've changed alot since we were younger Roman, I'm not the same Tiffany that I used to be and I want you to see that. I need you to see that."
"Fa' what, Tiffany?" He asked with a shrug, narrowing his eyes at her as she stood there in silence not really knowing what to say back; and that's exactly how Roman knew she was still all talk. "I mean you say all dat' shit you said, did all da' shit you did, then come back outta' no where trynna'— shit, I'on know.. fix shit?"
"I wasn't a good wife to you, okay? I can stand here and admit that," She said, still trying to prove that she'd changed. The old Tiffany never took accountability for anything in her life, and to add to that — she was more selfish than selfless when it came to everyone, Roman especially.
"I regret the way I treated you back then every day Roman, I swear. Life has really been hard since Serenity died; we divorced so I didn't have you, she passed so I didn't have her, and I lost my job. I've moved back to Middleton with my sister and I knew with my parents living here in Concrete and me going to their church that eventually I would bump into you so I wanted to rip the band aid off myself. Roman .. I need you."
"Aight so na' what, Tiffany? I supposed ta' drop all da' shit I got goin' now ta' cater ta' you 'cause life got too tough and you had ta' come back home? I ain't takin' away from me ta' give ta' you no mo', I'on owe you dat'."
"What? Roman I never said you owed me anything, all I was doing was informing you on what happened and why I'm back, I figured you were curious."
"Nah, Tiffany," He began to quietly shake his head,"you still too full of ya'self ta' even realize how much you done said "I need" dis' whole time we been standin' here talkin'. It's still all about you, shit I even can't say I'm all dat' surprised though."
"Are you seriously still trying to make me out to be some selfish bitch? You want to talk about someone being selfish, Roman? Okay let's talk about how you would literally choose all this country, cowboy bullshit over your own wife. Hm? When things got hard between us, you ran and brought your ass right back to this place. Every single time. You would choose a fuckin' stallion and a rodeo over me any time but I'm wrong for being selfish?"
"See, you spinnin' shit back on me again." Honestly after dealing with this for so long with her, Roman couldn't even be upset about it. If anything, it was hilarious to him at this point. "I started puttin' what I love and who I love first again afta' I divorced yo' ass mane, don't stand here and try ta' make it seem like a nigga did you wrong.
I ain't gon' let you stand here and try ta' create dat' narrative, especially when we both know da' truth. Especially when in da' dame fuckin' breath you can stand here and say you need me? C'mon na' you gotta stop contradictin' ya'self all da' time."
