For the first time in the history of humans and Pokémon exploring space, a flight to Mars was half-empty. Everyone once wanted to go. There were even tourist flights. Despite Arceus itself helping to terraform the planet in the conclusion of an ancient prophecy, people found it difficult to trust the new Creation program since it was revealed that the Ares program was taken over by the criminal syndicate Cipher.

The Creation program itself was legitimate, but fears of Cipher weren't unfounded. A few dangerous members of Cipher were still on the loose on Mars. They could hide wherever they liked now the air was breathable. Ghetsis of Team Plasma died 77 years ago, but the Ghetsis of an alternate universe, who fell from an Ultra Wormhole, was out there somewhere. The wreckage left by Cipher's rule remained in the Martian public's fear of Pokémon and change, but the astronauts who founded the Harmony project made it their mission to tackle that.

Some of them were there on the solar system's biggest mountain, the Mt. Coronet of Mars, when Arceus appeared. Nyx Harmonia threw the final Mysterious Balm that calmed the deity enraged by another villain's attempt to erase everyone who opposed him, before it chose to aid them in creating their new world. The valiant Hisuian Zorua who trotted after her, hiding behind illusions of everything from other Pokémon to chili peppers, was the child of a Zoroark brought to the modern world by Nyx's great-grandfather, Volo. It proudly wore medals awarded for its heroics.

Her best friend, Mercury Harmonia, battled alongside her, but the achievement he was proudest of was being the photographer whose pictures proved it happened.

Nyx's husband Firmino, the leader of Team Aqua, was the one who caught and calmed a rampaging Kyogre. When their fellow passengers saw them pushing their newborn son's stroller around the Mega Wailord ship on the 29-day journey to Mars, they seemed so quietly in love that it was hard to believe their story began when she pointed a knife at him.
