"You can't just do that!" I looked up from the book I was reading at the sound of Aurora shouting. It was 3 in the morning. My birthday was officially starting as of an hour ago. I am 31 years old. Every year on my birthday I read the collections of the Brothers Brimm. My mom would read them to me every night, but on my birthday she would read me a book of my choice. After she died I became nostalgic and would read them all but only on my birthday.

It's what I was doing now before

"There are procedures in place, you can't just take him!"

I heard some angry stomping around before Aurora's irritated muffled scream. Curiosity got the best of me. I opened the door quietly and snuck out to see Wanda do the same thing. Looks like we both heard that then.

We quietly approached the end of the hall and heard the conversation. Then I heard Steve try to calm her down and she continued to rant angrily. "He can't just do that Steve. Vision is family, we can't just let them take him."

Wanda and I exchanged looks. Vision? Who was taking Vision? I thought he was buried in the mausoleum.

"Look, we'll figure this out." Steve promised. "I'm sure Pepper can get SWORD to give him back."

"They won't give him back Steve." Aurora pointed out. "This isn't going to be like last time. I'm surprised they even waited this long to take him."

Last time? "Even if we get the paperwork done, I have no doubt that they are dismantling him as we speak." Wanda gasps, loud enough for Steve and Aurora to hear from where they were standing. We immediately hid against the wall and in fear of being caught scattered to our bedrooms. God I feel like a child.

What exactly were they talking about? SWORD? Vision? I only knew a little bit about SWORD. They were a government intelligence agency, dedicated to protecting Earth from both extraterrestrial and extra-dimensional threats. But we've never had any contact with them before. Did they take Vision?

There was a knock at the door and I instantly shut my eyes. The door opened but I pretended to be asleep. "I have 2 kids, Veronica." said Aurora. "I know when they're eavesdropping."

Dammit. I opened my eyes to find Aurora leaning against the door frame with an unamused look. "Whoops?"

She sighed and left without another work, I got out of bed and followed after her. Wanda was already sitting down at the kitchen island, making small talk with Steve. "Alright we know you heard," Steve said with crossed arms. "I'll admit we weren't exactly being quiet."

Wanda then goes stone cold serious next to me, looking down at her hands. "Who were you yelling at?"

"We heard you mention Vision's name."

Vision. My sentianoid best friend. My dead, sentanoid best friend. I didn't even get to say goodbye to him before he died. I didn't get to say goodbye to a lot of people.

Steve sighed before beginning to explain. "When Vision signed the Accords. He agreed to give his body up, in the case that he died. So after the blip, SWORD showed up. And tried taking him."

I scoffed, of course they did. Of course they tried.

"But Tony was legally Vision's creator." Aurora added. "And we knew that he wouldn't like it if the government got their hands on him, plus with my history with the government I didn't like the idea of them holding on to him. And I mean Vision's family.

So we held off long as we could till Tony came back. But Tony died, they took Vision away. Pepper and I have been calling, threatening to sue; anything to get him back. None of it has worked."
