Headstrong and confident, Mira was trained from a young age to be an assassin of the supernatural kind. Trained by her uncles in the "family business". Now at the age of twenty, fueled by the death of her brother and her thirst for vengeance, Mira h...

The suns magnificent hues of orange and yellow shadows were beginning to crest as I walked out of the edge of the tree line. The air smelling of fresh oak, smoke and cold. White powder covered the expanse and small pools of ice reflected wispy veils of cover.
Returning to my car and the girl I'd abandoned, I examined the wall of ice on the windows and mountain of snow on and around it. My hope; the girl had not froze to death. Urgently pulling the door open, to my surprise, heat escaped. Peering into the backseat, the girl was still covered in the blanket I'd given her. It was pulled up to her neck, she was no longer shivering, just peacefully resting
Not intending on bringing home a wounded animal, all I could think about was how I felt Brian propelling me towards this girl. His voice saying, "Mira, help her, she's innocent in all this." I knew he was right so I did the next right thing, or so I thought, and brought her to my car for safety. Now would come the fun part, traversing through this slush back to the manor with sleeping (soon to be) wolfie along for the drive.
With a normal pace, I passed under the expanse that was protected by shadows of leaves weeping and willowing with the winter breeze. As I approached my uncles cobalt modern colonial estate. It was built circa 1874 and greenery protected every wall of the property as high as one could see. Passing through the front of the home, the scenery changed, a lot. The brick had all been made the color of silver dust around the massive unbreakable walls of glass. And this was only for the main house. We lived on 800 acres of land up in the western edge of Colorado. Secluded, surveilled, and damn near impenetrable, it would be intimidating to some, while impressive to others. With several smaller cottages and apartments, one being mine, the compound was mostly empty of unnecessary staff and people.
I drove the car around the back of the house to get the girl out of the car. Only hoping I could sneak her into the infirmary without being noticed. My uncles hated it when I brought home strays, but I have a soft spot for humans I feel can be saved, especially after what happened to my brother; I wouldn't let that happen again.
"Come on, right here... feet up." Assisting the young woman onto the bed inside one of the guest cottages. She winced, the pain was starting to lesson more and more now that her body was accustomed to the bite, but it was still there enough to leave her uncomfortable. Small talk wasn't much my thing, but I did my best, hoping it would divert her attention from the pain,. "What is your name and how did you end up at that club?" Familiar with how the transition went, my emotions clenched in my gut. I hated this for her. This poor young woman had been in the wrong place, at the most unfair time, and didn't deserve to have such a curse thrust upon her. Being bitten by anything supernatural was that, a curse. It was something I didn't know a lot about though and didn't understand. I didn't know this girls entire story, but I did know that her whole world was about to change in a big way. She wouldn't be able to go back to her normal life, and it tore at my heart, because we all needed to have some kind of normalcy in our lives. She was a fighter, I could tell, so maybe this, wouldn't hold her back any.
