With honey-colored eyes, Rose studied the man in black. It had been a long time since she had been brought into the auditorium. The sun had set and warm lights lit up the auditorium.
I cut off the restraints that bound my arm with the small knife I had hidden. Rose was sitting in her chair pretending to be restrained, and the small knife was handed to the student council girl next to her, and then to the students there.
She can move at any time. But she also fully understood that it was useless to move her. The men in black are few in number, but each one of them is an influential person who can't let his guard down. And it has control.
Among them, the strength of the man named Rex and his superior, the skinny knight, stood out. The teacher who misunderstood for his abilities and rebelled was brutally murdered without being able to do anything about it.
Even if I could use magic, I don't know if I could win.
Luckily, I haven't seen Rex in a while. It would have been better if he had been beaten outside by the Knights... but I don't think someone as powerful as Rex wouldn't let his guard down. Yes, it was Rose's honest thought that she wanted to do something before Rex came back.
The skinny knight often hides in the back room, but occasionally appears to look around the Great Auditorium, cursing Rex when he doesn't return.
From the skinny knight's strength and magical appearance, his abilities would exceed the realm of a master. Perhaps even surpass that Iris Midgar... I'd like to think that's not the case. If that was the case, even if she regained his magic power, Rose's chances of winning against the skinny knight would be extremely low.
Either way, now is not the time to move.
But it's also true that we don't have time.
As time passed, Rose felt magic flowing from her body. This might be related to the phenomenon of not being able to use magic, but I don't know the exact reason. Rose still had some free time, but the students with less magic power were starting to get sick. In a few more hours, some students will lack magic. And the chance to fight was lost forever.
Anxiety and impatience welling up in my heart.
It's always the figure of a boy that suppresses it.
Every time she remembered the majestic figure of Cid who risked himself to save Rose, a warm feeling welled up in Rose's chest. Never let her thoughts go to waste. While thinking many times, Rose waited for that moment.
And then, suddenly, the moment came.
Suddenly, the auditorium was illuminated by a bright white light.
She didn't know what it was. But Rose was moving faster than she thought. She didn't care what light it was. However, I instinctively felt that this was my last chance. While everyone's eyes were captivated by the dazzling light, Rose narrowed her eyes and ran towards the man in black she knew.
Rose noticed the moment she put her hand on that gaping neck.
She can use magic!
Rose's sword cut off the man's neck in an instant.
She didn't know why she could use magic. But, no problem.
However, Rose snatched the sword from the waist of the man who had lost his neck, raised it to the sky and howled.
"Magic has been freed!! Stand up, it's time to counterattack!!"
The auditorium was boiling. Boys and girls in the student council moved, breaking the restraints in an instant, and the freed students started to move. Everyone's intentions became one, and their enthusiasm shook the air. Rose released a large amount of magical power and knocked the black-clothed man away with a single blow.
