It was now the next morning in the ruins. The monsters that lived in the ruins were starting to wake up, Toriel had gotten up and started to do her daily task, and it was starting to be just a regular day down in the ruins.
In the room, Player was sleeping in they also started to wake up. They woke up slowly, looking around the room a bit trying to get aware of their surroundings and remembering the events from yesterday. They sat up in their bed yawning and stretching trying to wake up the rest of their body to get ready for what the day had planned for them.
"Good yawn morning Flowey. Did you sleep well?" They asked him in a cheerful and innocent tone.
Flowey didn't reply to them, not wanting to fall trap to their innocent act.
They hopped out of bed and started putting on his boots. After slipping them on they picked up Flowey in his flower pot and exited their room.
They went into the hallway and walked towards the living room part of the house. As they walked into the living room they didn't see Toriel anywhere, but they did hear the sound of humming coming from the kitchen. Taking a guess that is where Toriel is, they enter the kitchen.
When they walked into the kitchen, they were met with Toriel by the stove cook, but using fire magic to cook instead of the stove, and humming to herself not noticing that Player and Flowey have entered the room.
"Ms. Toriel?" Player said, trying to get her attention.
Toriel stopped her humming and noticed that Player and Flowey had entered the room. She stopped her fire magic and started to address them.
"My apologies for not noticing you. I'm used to taking care of children that prefer to sleep in, so I thought I would have to go and wake you up myself." Toriel said, giving a gentle smile. "As you can see I was planning to make you and your friend a meal to start your day but it's not ready yet, fire magic is great for cooking, but you can't overdo it or else you might accidentally cook your house as well". She finished giving a light chuckle at the last part.
"Since you're up you wouldn't mind helping me, would you? Would you set the table for me? It hasn't been properly set for a while though so it might be a bit dusty."
"Don't worry we'll do it, no problem?"
They quickly went into the living room and placed Flowey on that table then went back into the kitchen to grab a cloth to clean the dust off of the table.
"Are you really going to do this?" Flowey asked
"Set the table?" Player replied
"Whatever plan you got going on. Can't you just skip all of this stuff and just do whatever you want, or is housekeeping a big part of your master plan"
Player finished dusting off the table and went back into the kitchen and got some plates and cups. They went back to continue their conversation with Flowey as they continued to prepare the table.
"Not everything someone does has to have some hidden reason behind it."
"Everything someone does has a reason."
Their conversation was interrupted as Toriel called out telling them that their breakfast is ready and wanted the Player to wash up a bit. So they went to the bath to quickly wash their hands and when they came back they saw that Toriel had placed the food on the table, even giving some to Flowey.
During their breakfast, Toriel talked about all the things that Player could do during their stay in the ruins and some things about monsters. Toriel did ask Flowey a few questions trying to get him to join the conversation, but he didn't answer any of them. Player covered for him saying that he was just shy and isn't used to talking to new people.
