It was late at night and a kid around the age of 10 was in their room on their computer playing a game called Undertale. They have played this game multiple times, doing a genocide run of it during their first playthrough out of confusion and the rest being true pacifists, but they were still not satisfied. They have just completed their sixth pacifist run, they stare at the screen as the credits roll by, and the characters from a game they love live their life happily on the surface.

"Something is still missing," they thought to themself as they continued to stare at the screen.

They've seen this ending so many times whether it be them getting it themselves or by watching someone else do it, but no matter what it never satisfied them. They didn't know why, everyone was happy, Frisk was able to free the monsters from the underground, and it was safe to assume the humans and monsters now lived together in harmony on the surface, it was the best outcome to come from their adventure so why were they not satisfied. Was it the desire to see something more or was it jealousy, being jealous that they could not enjoy a happy ending with characters they have grown an attachment to?

*Knock Knock*

They were drawn away from their thoughts when they heard a knock on their bedroom door.

"█████ it's late, go to bed, I don't want to hear you complaining in the morning about not getting enough sleep when you're up until almost one in the morning playing some game." The person on the other side said, sounding very annoyed.

The child realizing how late it has gotten decides that they should head to bed. "Sorry, I'm going to bed right now".

"Thank you, honestly I don't see how..." the person replied as they walked away continuing with their rambling.

The kid started to get ready for bed, so they turned off their computer to head out, but as they were about to do it they were hit with a blue screen.

They were a bit weirded out by it, but they decided to ignore it since they were going to head to bed and that it would hopefully solve itself in the morning or I guess the morning when the sun comes up, but as they were going to turn away the screen turned dark and then white. Then weird symbols started to display.

The kid started to get scared they didn't know what they were saying. Maybe this was all in their head they thought maybe they were just hallucinating because of their lack of sleep. Or maybe not.

The brightness from the screen started to increase enveloping the room in the blinding light so bright that it started to the child's eyes forcing them to close them.

They passed out

When they woke up they weren't in their room. They woke up in a dark abyss that seemed to be endless. They started to panic, at first they started to frantically run and look around trying to see if they could feel a wall or something. Thinking that maybe they were still in their room and that it was just too dark for them to see.

Their panic grew as they couldn't feel anything, not a wall or any kind of furniture, they even started to question whether even the ground they were standing on was real. Their breathing started to get more rapid and tears started to escape their eyes.

"Someone please help me... I just want to go home!" They said as more tears fell down their face.

During their breakdown, however, they didn't notice the figure that started to appear in front of them.
