Chapter 4: Emergency

Klay: Padre Salvi?!?!

Padre Salvi got alarmed. After being shocked to discover that he was still pursuing Maria Clara, Klay remained silent and still. In order to avoid being seen or heard by anyone inside, Padre Salvi quickly and carefully ran to her. He put his hand over her mouth, grabbed her, and took her to the river about five minutes away, where he threw her in. Padre Salvi stabbed Klay in the back since she was unable to escape from his grasp. To protect himself in case someone tried to harm him, he always carried a little knife. Klay was trying to escape from those who were kicking or punching him. She was lying on chilly water that was touching her body when she awoke. She attempted to stand up but failed. Due to the fact that the cut on her back that was given to her began to pain more than it already did.

Fidel POV

As soon as everyone else left I asked Ibarra, "Amigo, have you seen Binibining Klay? She still has not come back after she left"

Ibarra: "No, I have not. Shall we check outside?"

Fidel: "Outside?"

Ibarra: "I saw her open the front door when she left earlier"

Fidel: "Then Let's go"

Ibarra instructed Mang Adong to go with them to find Klay

5 Minutes Later | 3rd Person POV

Fidel: "Amigo, Hindi ko pa mahanap si Binibining Klay. Something bad might've happened to her."

Ibarra: "Let's not think that. She might have just run away"

Fidel: "I don't think she's one to do that."

Mang Adong rushes towards them while panting before Ibarra has a chance to speak.

Mang Adong: "Nakita ko na po siya, nakahiga po sa tubig at dumudugo ang tagiliran niya."

The 3 of them quickly ran in the direction Mang Adong led them too.

The three of them dropped everything as soon as they saw her and carried her to the kalesa to get her to someone who could help her. When they arrived in town, several people came to them right away to aid Klay.
