Six months had passed since Y/n fell into a coma, and every day that Y/n stayed asleep was like living hell for Peter. Not knowing if she was ok or when she was going to wake up was agonising. Eventually, Peter and his family had to explain to Sarah what was going on, and to say she didn't take the news well would be an understatement.

" Sarah! Can you come down for a minute!?" Lucy called to her eight-year-old daughter.

"Coming!" She replied and made her way downstairs to see her parents and brother sitting on the couch. "Wh-what's going on?" She asked, a little frightened.

"Take a seat sweety." Her dad smiled sadly.

"I-is everything ok?" Sarah asked, taking a seat next to her parents.

"Not quite," Her mother began. "You know how Y/n has been gone for about a month?"

"Yeah, she went to the music camp thing, at least that's what you told me, why, is everything OK?" Sarah asked.

"Honey, she's not at a music camp, we made that up so that you wouldn't get worried." Her mum said, taking her hand in hers.

"Th-then where is she?" Sarah asked.

"She's in the hospital honey," Lucy said, tearing up a little.

"W-why, I-is she ok?" Sarah asked, freaking out.

"I'm afraid not, you see, N/n was hit by a car a month ago, the night we went to see F/S? She's in a coma." Lucy said.

"No, N-no she can't be, she has to be alright." Sarah said in disbelief.

"I'm sorry sweety." Her dad said, and Sarah broke. She sobbed her heart out and hugged her parents. When she saw Peter, she felt even worse.

"Oh Peter." Sarah said, hugging her brother who began to sob into his sister's shoulder. "I'm so sorry, I can't imagine what you're going through, I know you love her." At his sister's words, he nodded, and Lucy and George sat with looks of happiness, shock and surprise. Peter never told his parents that he and Y/n had said "I love you" to each other, and neither had Y/n told hers, she wasn't sure if her parents had heard Peter say he loved her at Luke's grave or not. So, she just left it.

"Wait, you love her?" His mum asked.

"Yeah, I really do." Peter sobbed. "I love her, and I don't want to lose her."

"Oh Peter." His mum said, tearing up. She brought her son into a hug.

For the entire of the six months, Peter went to see his girlfriend in the hospital every day, talking to her about his day, singing songs they wrote, or just holding her hand. As the weeks went on, it became a little harder. Seeing Y/n like that was breaking his heart, as was it for the rest of his family, and hers.

Mitch and Emily had it the hardest, they lost Luke and now Y/n was in a coma. How much worse could it get?

Ever since the accident, the only thing that helped him cope was writing, he wrote so many songs about her, about how he missed her, he even sang one to her. The doctor said it helped her surprisingly, so he got to writing another.

One day, he took out his songbook and suddenly a memory came to mind, about the time Y/n showed him a song she wrote after Luke died. It was before she stopped playing and it was the last song, she sang as well.

It was about a week after Luke died and Peter was on his way to Y/n's house. He went round every day, to help her or just hang out. But today was different. He entered the house like usual (greeting Emily and Mitch) and went up to his best friend's room when he heard the piano start playing, and a voice singing
