TW: mentions of blood

Peter's POV:

Y/n and I have come back from seeing F/s and we had. So. Much. Fun. They sang all our favourite songs, and we danced all night long, it was amazing, and I loved it. When we got back, neither of us were feeling too tired so we asked mum if we could go out on a walk, and surprisingly, she said yes, she never normally would, weird. But anyway, Y/n and I walked to the park where we walked around for a bit before deciding to go home.

"Do you wanna head home?" I asked her. "Sure," She began, "but first..." letting go of my hand, she ran away. "Last one home is the loser!" She screamed as I ran after her, laughing.

She ran towards the house but slowed down right before the road. when she saw no cars coming, she started running again, I was about to run after her when I saw something out the corner of my eye. It was a car! And it was headed straight for her! "Y/N!" I screamed and she stopped. "BEHIND YOU." She turned around and it was if everything went in slow motion, all of a sudden, the car slammed into her, sending her flying back, and all I could see was her unconscious body surrounded by blood.  I ran as fast as I could to get to her and in the meantime the person that was driving the car drove off.

As I got to her, I saw a huge gash in her head that blood was pouring out of, I ripped off my jacket and put it against the wound to stop the bleeding. "HELP!" I called out, "SOMEBODY, HELP ME!" I kept on screaming until my throat was raw and I had tears streaming down my face. I had forgotten my phone at home, and I knew Y/n's was dead, so I carried on screaming, hoping someone would hear me.

Eventually, someone did and came out to see what was going on. They saw me on the floor with Y/n's head in my lap covered in blood and immediately called an ambulance. I heard vague snippets of what the person was saying. "Girl on the floor... covered in blood... SEND HELP!" The person came over to me once she was finished on the phone. "Hello, what happened?" she asked. "H-hep me, please." I spoke. "It's alright sweaty, the ambulance is on their way." She spoke. Bending down to me, "What happened, where are your parents?" she asked. I told her about how Y/n and I were on a walk when she was hit by a car, probably a drunk driver, and my address, and she responded, telling me it was going to be ok. About a minute later the ambulance showed up, and immediately came over and started asking questions. "What happened," "How long has she been like this," "Is there a pulse?" Shoot, with everything that's happened, I forgot to check for a pulse! "I-I don't know, I didn't check for one." I cried.

The paramedics picked her up, off the floor, and one started checking for a pulse, "I can't find one." The said and my heart broke, I broke down in tears. "Get her to the hospital as quickly as possible!" Another one said and like that, they were driving away. "Do you want me to take you home?" The lady who found us asked me and I nodded, tears still streaming down my face. We walked home swiftly, me almost running and when we got there, I knocked on the door. Mum was quick to open it and when she saw me crying, with blood on my shirt, a random woman with me also crying lightly and no Y/n, she assumed the worst.

"Wh-where's Y/n?" She asked. I broke down and sobbed. "It's all my fault!" I cried. "What happened?" Mum asked, now crying a bit too. "W-we have to go to the hospital, NOW!" I said. "Alright, get in the car, I'll go grab the keys." Mum said. "Thank you," mum said to the lady who took me home. "You're welcome, tell me how she's doing, ok? Your son knows where I live." the lady responded, "I'll make sure to do so." Mum said and the lady walked home. I went inside to grab my phone and ran to the car, mum doing the same after grabbing the keys and in less than 30 seconds we were on our way to the hospital.

When we got there mum was quick to park the car and we raced to reception. "Hi, we're looking for Y/n Patterson?" mum said.

"She was taken to the ER a few minutes ago," The lady at reception said. "If you'll take a seat, we'll let you know when we have more news on her."

"Th-thank you." And with that mum and I went to sit down. As we sat down mum began texting on her phone, telling dad where we are and Mitch and Emily, Y/n's parents, what had happened and to come to the hospital as soon as possible, all while I sat there replaying the events of the night over... and over... and over again in my head. Eventually I couldn't handle it and I burst into tears. "Oh baby" Mum said as she hugged me.
