Your POV

It's been a few weeks since I was given the key to Snape's home. Currently it's on a string that I keep under my sweater at all times. I haven't left the castle yet, as everyone else has. There's a few teachers that have hung around, but the most are gone. Leaning on a wall I touch the key under my sweater. Should I just do as I'm told? Harry and the rest are at the Burrow for a wedding. Voldemort is after him and it's dangerous. Everything's dangerous. Wizards and Witches are going missing in the middle of the night, more names come up on the radio every morning. The Wizarding World is falling apart as we know it. And what am I doing? Trying to chase after a guy that doesn't have time for me. He won't even look at me anymore.

Maybe he's trying to protect me? That's what I tell myself at least. I hope with every fiber of my being that he isn't actually back to being a Death Eater. That he isn't actually working for Voldemort. Shaking my head I sigh gently. Deciding to take a little time at Spinner's End like I was told. Maybe I could do my best to apparate to be with Hermione and them. Then I might be able to figure out what's next.

Moving from my spot on the wall, there's a group of people dressed in black marching towards the castle. Dementors were floating around the castle, watching everything. If one so much as breathed wrong, they would have the Dementor's Kiss. Or that was what it felt like anyhow. Moving about the castle, I sigh gently. Shaking my head I turn around and decide to go to Spinner's End. There had to be something there for me to find. Something he wants me to find.

Leaving the castle I went to the muggle world, moving around the streets I followed my senses towards Snape's home. Standing in front of the door that matches the key in my hand, I open it and step inside. Wandering around the halls I find a room with an armchair, a fireplace and a lot of books.

Walking into the room, I can feel my eyes well up with tears as I bite my lip slightly. Doing my best to shake it off as I look at the chair. Seeing a faint vision of Snape sitting in it reading a paper. Sighing shakily I turn to see two women close to the fireplace. One looking at something on the mantle, as she picks it up.

"Put it down, Bella. We mustn't touch what isn't ours."

She puts it down, as she turns to him. The other lady that was now sitting in another chair, looks at him. Her hair was a mix of blonde and brown. Snape is now standing as he holds a drink in his hands, I was standing next to him. Reaching out to touch him, I sigh gently as my hand moves right through him.

"As it so happens, I'm aware of your situation Narcissa."

"You? The Dark Lord told you?"

"Your sister doubts me." he shifts his weight as he watches the one by the fireplace, Bella.

"Understandable, as it so happens I've played my part well- So well, I've deceived one of the greatest wizards of all time."

Bella makes a snorting sound as she moves to a different part of the room.

Snape's voice was a little more stern. "Dumbledore is a great wizard only a fool would question it."

"I don't doubt you, Severus."

"You should be honored Cissy, as should Draco."

There was a slight pause before Narcissa Malfoy started to speak again. "He's just a boy."

"I can't change the Dark Lord's mind." he pauses as he watches her face fall. "But it might be possible for me to help Draco."

She stands from her chair as she steps closer to him "Severus-"

"Swear to it."

They look at Bellatrix as she stares at the two. "Make the Unbreakable Vow. It's just empty words, he'll give it his best effort, but when it matters most, he'll just slither back into his hole." she puts her chin on his shoulder as she whispers.

Narrowing my eyes at her I glare at Lestrange. "Coward" she says. Shaking my head I listen to what was being shown to me.

"Take out your wand."

Snape and Narcissa join hands, holding each other's wrists, turning them side was as Bellatrix casts a spell on them. Ribbons glow around their hands as they stand there.

"Will you, Severus Snape, watch over Draco Malfoy as he attempts to fulfill the Dark Lord's wishes?"

"I will."

His answer felt as if the wind was pulled from my lungs. Leaning on the chair in front of me I listen as Bellatrix speaks again.

"And will you, to the best of your ability. Protect him from harm?"

"I will."

Gasping slightly as I feel my heart skip a beat, I hold my chest tightly.

"If Draco should fail, will you yourself carry out the deed the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform?"

"I will."

With a slight noise I hit the floor, gasping slightly. Tears falling from my eyes as my hands shake. Harry was right. Snape was the one that killed Dumbledore when Malfoy couldn't. Bellatrix hums slightly and the three of them disappear as I'm on the floor in the middle of the room. Groaning as I feel my heart in my chest, breaking as I lay there from what I just saw.

"Severus! Why would you make the deal?"

Covering my eyes with my sleeves as I roll onto my side, my cries echoing through the room. I laid there for what felt like a year in silence after I had no tears left to cry. My voice was hoarse from the wails. Sitting up as I glance around the room, I close my eyes slightly. Is that what you wanted to show me? To prove me wrong? Using the chair that Snape was originally sitting in with his paper, I come to my feet slowly.

Shaking my head I decide that being in the house was nothing but pain. Blinking as something was shining in my face, I look at the mantle. Stepping over to it slowly, I sigh as it was what Bellatrix picked up the day he made the vow. Picking it up as I try to figure out what it is, I move it around my hands.

Shaking my head I put it back down and turn to leave, but stop in my tracks with my eyes wide.

"(y/n)."

Turning around I glance as I try to find Snape as I heard his voice.

"After Bellatrix and Narcissa left I knew there had to be a way to tell you what I did. The object she touched being the only thing I could think of."

Turning around I watch as it glowing faintly. "I gave you my house key to make sure you were safe, and to tell you this: I'm not on the Dark Lord's side, I'm doing everything I can to make sure to stop him. Even if it means I have to be what I don't want to be anymore."

Sighing gently, I feel my lip quiver as I stand there, wrapping myself with my arms.

"I know the pain that I've been causing you, and I'm sorry. Know that if I knew a spell to take it from you I would instantly. For now I need you to understand that I'm doing what is needed of me."

The object flashes a few more times before going dim to how it was before again. Sighing as I watch it for a moment, I decide to go back to Hogwarts.
