Your POV

Tonight was the night of Slughorn's party. I was going to do my best to sneak into the wing that it was being held in, a part of the castle that not a lot of students are allowed into. I was able to pretend that I was actually invited fairly easily, hiding in between some dark curtains, doing my best to avoid Snape as he was there, being what was pretty much a bouncer at this point.

Everything was going just fine before Malfoy was caught upstairs by Filch.

"I'll escort him out."

"Certainly, Professor."

Hearing Snape's voice I was on the move again, making my way out of the room and standing close enough to hear but still far enough that Snape wouldn't pick me up.

"Maybe I did hex that Bell girl. Maybe I didn't, what's it to you?"

Snape pushes Malfoy into the wall as he holds him still by his collar.

"I swore to protect you. I made the Unbreakable Vow."

"I don't need protection. I was chosen for this. Out of all others. Me. And I won't fail him.-"

"You're afraid, Draco. You attempt to conceal it, but it's obvious. Let me assist you."

"No! I was chosen, this is my moment."

Hearing them walk away I stood there. Sliding down the wall, my heart pounding in my chest. Everything I thought I knew, everything I thought was right, wasn't. Snape, what did you get yourself into? Standing up shakily after a moment, I move down the hall towards the bathroom, feeling as if I was going to be sick.

On the train after a couple of days, I'm sitting next Ron and Harry in a train car. Lavender showing up and making a heart on the window about her and Ron. Shaking my head I sigh gently.

"What happens if you break an Unbreakable Vow?"

"You die."

I chewed on the inside of my lip. What was I to do? I don't think that Snape would tell me anything, if he could tell me anything. Getting back to Hogwarts I go towards my room, sitting on the bed as I try to wrap my head around everything. Harry continued to try to get Slughorn to tell him about what Tom Riddle asked him all those years ago, since Dumbledore needed to know.

Sitting in a sun spot in the hallway I sigh gently. Being in the hall  to read I look at my shoes more than the pages. Trying to figure out how to break an Unbreakable Vow was looking less and less hopeful. Though I suppose that's what's happens, when it's called 'unbreakable'.

Looking up slightly there's cloaked shoes in front of me. Chewing on the inside of my cheek, I follow the person and am met with Snape.

"Follow."

Getting up I follow him towards his new classroom and he motions for me to sit. Sitting down I stare at the desk as I hear his own seat creak.

"You're awfully talkative."

"Don't remind me."

"Is this about the other day?"

The only thing I could think about was 'which one? you pushing me away and telling me things are changing, or you trying to help Malfoy in whatever he was doing.'

Shaking my head I sigh. "Just exams."

"Do not lie to me."

Turning I look at him, narrowing my eyes slightly before Hermione comes into the class room to tell me that Ron was poisoned. We headed for the Hospital Wing. Snape on our heels as we find Ron in a bed. Apparently a drink that was supposed to be for Dumbledore was poisoned, and handed off to Snape for him to try and figure out what it was.

We file out of the room, Hermione staying behind as she keeps an eye on Ron. Them probably going to be an item sooner than later. I headed for my dorms as Harry went to figure out what Malfoy was doing as he was heading upstairs to the Come and Go room. I myself was far too exhausted to be chasing around anymore Slytherins.
