"LEXI, GET UP!" Shouted my older brother Geoff from down stairs. "Why should I? It's a Saturday" I rolled over and looked at my alarm clock. "And it's 8:30... what normal person is up at this time? I questioned. "Otto and Awsten are coming over soon, and just about everyone on the planet is up. "Obviously you're not normal" he laughed the last part, and i simply rolled my eyes. I suddenly realised what Geoff had just said. "Otto and Awsten are coming over..." I've known Otto and Awsten pretty much my whole life, I'm now 17 and 1/2 and well, I don't exactly feel comfortable wearing my pjs in front of them. I jumped (literally) out of my bed and started looking around my room for something to wear. I finally decided on this () "They here yet?" I called to Geoff from my room. "Not yet, they said around 5 minutes. So I suggest you get dressed now!" he laughed. "I am dressed thank you very much!" And with that I turned on my stereo and began to dance and sing along to my iPhone. After 10 minutes, Otto, and Awsten still hadn't arrived. I'm not ok by my chemical romance had just started playing. I find myself standing in front of my mirror examining my body from all different angles. Ironic isn't it? I listen to a song saying I'm not ok, when all I do is pretend I am? "Nose not straight enough, lips too thin and pale, no tan whatsoever, hair too curly and too brown (thanks Geoff) " I mumbled to myself, so Geoff couldn't hear. " I have always had low self esteem issues, and this little 'not perfect' session wasn't really helping. I grabbed my tape measure off my desk and wrapped it around my waist. "51 cm" I grumbled. Oh well that's 1 less cm than yesterday. I looked back at my face and saw the tears swelling in my eyes. "Think positive thoughts, that razor isn't a friend, you don't need it"This was something I had repeated many times to myself. And most of the time it works, like today for example.
"WE'RE HERE!" I heard Otto yell, as the front door burst open I could imagine Awsten rolling his eyes as Geoff hi fived Otto for his stupidity. This was a scene I have see. Many a time "WHERE'S MY LEXI?" Yelled Otto once again. I didn't want them to see me with my face all blotchy with tears. Getting ready still probably" laughed Geoff. "Typical, girls always spend too long on their hair" snicker Otto. " speak for yourself mr my hair simply must be perfect before I leave Wood" laughed Awsten, I heard chuckles come from Geoff first followed closely by Otto. The laughing and arguing continued as I made my way into the kitchen. I knew perfectly well what I had to do. It was something I had done countless times.
