The morning after,
The morning sun blanketed the house with a soft glow as Sarah emerged from her bedroom, her heart fluttering at the thought of Aryan. As soon as she opened the door, she spotted him.
"Good morning, Kitty," Aryan greeted her warmly, his hand gently resting on her shoulder.
"Good morning, Aryan," Sarah replied, a smile illuminating her face as their eyes met.
Together, they made their way to the dining table, where Vidhya Maa awaited them with breakfast, her motherly smile filling the room with warmth.
"Good morning, children," she said softly.
"Good morning, Vidhya Maa," they chimed back in unison, settling down at the table.
As they dug into the delicious white sauce pasta, Sarah couldn't help but admire the dish. "Wow, I never knew you could cook such tasty pasta, Vidhya Maa!" she exclaimed, delighting in every bite. She was so engrossed that she didn't notice the white sauce smeared on her cheek.
"Thank you, beta," Vidhya Maa responded, beaming at Sarah's genuine reaction.
Aryan smirked, his teasing nature emerging. "She excels at cooking every kind of food. But you, my dear, seem to struggle with the eating part," he said while cleaning sauce from Sarah's cheek with his finger then taking it into his mouth while looking intently at her with a devilish smile on his handsome face.
"What... What are you doing?" Sarah stammered, her heart racing. His gaze locked onto hers, and she couldn't help but think about how inappropriate this felt with Vidhya Maa in the room. But then the thought snuck in—maybe it wouldn't be so bad with just the two of them. "Gosh, stop it, Sarah."
"What? I was merely showing how to eat properly," he replied, his words draped in mischief.
"I am way better than you when it comes to eating. Humph!" she retorted, heading to the kitchen to clean her dish.
As she turned, she bumped into him unexpectedly. "What? Do you need something?" Sarah asked, startled by the closeness as he held her hands gently.
Aryan remained silent, lost in her gaze, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts. The world around them faded, and he found his eyes drifting down to her lips—should he kiss her or hug her? What if she didn't want it? Should he reveal everything he had done to Ravindra's family now or later?
"Doesn't he understand how much his closeness affects me? Why isn't he saying anything?" she pondered, her nerves racing.
Before he could decide, Vidhya Maa entered the kitchen.
He retreated his hands from her then looked at her one last time before going out hurriedly.
As Sarah bid farewell to Vidhya Maa, she caught sight of Aryan's wallet left on the dining table. With a quick decision, she dashed downstairs, her heart pounding as she called out to him, "Aryan!"
Turning around with a smile, he watched Sarah approach, panting slightly from her hurried steps. "You forgot something," she said, extending his wallet toward him, a teasing glint in her eyes.
"Your wallet, Mr. Daydream," she added with a smirk, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
"Dare you to call me a fool again," he replied, his voice playful yet filled with a hint of danger.
"Okay, Mister macho, I won't. I have to go now. Bye!" she said hurriedly, knowing she had a meeting to catch.
Surprising her, Aryan declared, "Come, I'll drop you off. And I'm not taking 'no' for an answer." His authoritative tone brooked no argument.
