Sarah's POV
A chill lingered in the air as I groaned softly, slowly peeling my eyes open. The remnants of sleep still clung to me, but the prospect of a new day beckoned. After a quick shower, I threw on a coffee-colored T-shirt and fitted jeans, the fabric cozy against my skin. As I descended the stairs, the scent of morning air filled my lungs.
"Suru! We're going fishing today!" Tirtha exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she sidled up to me.
"There's a lake here, a bit further down. Let's get moving!" she urged, grabbing my hand eagerly.
When we arrived at the fishing spot, I was immediately drawn to Aryan's presence. Clad in a simple white T-shirt and gray sports pajamas, he looked effortlessly dashing—always able to make the ordinary seem extraordinary.
"Morning, Kitty," he greeted, a playful smirk lighting up his face.
"Morning, Aryan!" I replied, matching his enthusiasm.
"Do you like fishing?" he asked, tilting his head in curiosity.
"I don't know; I've never been fishing before. How about you?" I replied, smiling up at him.
"I love it and I'm quite good at it. So, you just support me, and together, we'll surely win this competition," he said confidently, patting my head affectionately.
I nodded, feeling a rush of excitement as we settled into our spots and began casting our lines.
"When did you learn to fish?" I asked, curiosity piqued.
"I learned when I was a kid. My uncle taught me," he replied, allowing his head to fall back against the chair, soaking in the sun.
I watched with bated breath as Aryan's fishing rod twitched, exhilaration bubbling inside me.
"Aryan, come on!" I clapped my hands in delight like a child witnessing magic for the first time.
He pulled back the rod with a flourish, triumph shining in his eyes as he caught the first fish.
"Slow down, Kitty. There's more where that came from," he chuckled, his amusement evident as I celebrated each of his catches with glee.
As we fished together, our laughter filled the air, my heart swelling with joy. Out of nowhere, Aryan's intense gaze met mine, and he muttered, "Sarah... you drive me crazy."
His words sent a thrill through me, igniting a warmth I hadn't expected.
Once we finished fishing, we headed down the hill, all buzzing with excitement for the barbecue planned that evening. As we gathered in the garden, I couldn't help but admire Aryan again, working the grill like a true master chef, his muscles flexing with each movement.
Tirtha found me lost in my thoughts. "You're drooling, Suru," she teased, laughter dancing in her eyes.
"But really, how can someone be this perfect? He even knows how to cook!" I sighed, still entranced by Aryan. "He's flawless in every way. I just... I don't know if I deserve him."
"Oh, come on! Stop that!" Tirtha playfully hit my arm. "Remember, no reason should hold you back from being with someone you love."
"Let her be; she loves watching her husband from afar," Sharad chimed in as he approached, a knowing smile stretched across his face.
"Sharad!" I whined, feigning indignation.
"Yes, my dear princess," he responded, wrapping both Tirtha and me in a comforting embrace. The affection reminded me of my father, a bittersweet reminder that brought a lump to my throat.
