Right now I was at work the job that I had got my senior year in high school with Judi at a firm.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me," I said.

I was sitting in my office at work handling a couple of document changes when my secretary told me I had a visitor.
I told her to send them in and low and behold there was Kae, Lea, and Jacob all staring me right in my face. I had to be dreaming.

This was just a bonafide ass nightmare right? I mean Jacob I could understand because despite everything he was still my client, even though he'd attempted to get his business out handled by someone else at the firm. What the fuck were these other ugly ass bobbleheads doing in my office though.

"Hey Christina," Jacob said scratching the back of his neck looking at me nervously.

"Let me find out I'm about to have to call security up in here," I said about to reach for my phone.

"What? Bitch you scared I'm gonna whoop your ass again?" Lea asked me.
"Boo let's not get this twisted okay.

I whooped your ass the first time around and I will do it again, however unlike you I have a job and good reputation to maintain which is why I'll call security on your ass. And plus I just had the carpets in my office re-done and I'd hate to have to get them replaced because you got your blood on them."
Lea rolled her eyes and Jacob smirked. He always liked the fact that I was a little rough around the edges. I heard Lea mumble something under her breath and my head snapped in her direction. "Bitch what you say? Don't get it twisted, I never liked your ass anyway so I will snatch your ass too."
Before Lea could say anything Kae stepped forward. "Everybody just chill out okay. Look Christina, we aren't here to cause any trouble okay." I looked at her skeptically. "I'm serious! I...we just want to call a truce okay.

Jacob is happy with Lea now, ya'll are not in high school anymore, Lea is over Karmen and I'm...well I realize Dwayne is happier with you and I've found someone who makes me happy too," she said reaching out and grabbing Lea's hand.

Wait...was this hoe trying to tell me she was eating pussy now? There's nothing wrong with that obviously, but ya'll can see where I'd have my doubts about these bitch made people in front of me right.
"Good. Which means now all of ya'll can leave me and my people the fuck alone." I wanted to make that clear.
"Well...not completely. Lea and I are going into business together, fashion. Jacob told us that you were the best at handling celebrity-esque accounts and that you know you're shit when it comes to business proposals. We want you to take our account," Kae said, once again speaking for the hoes in the room.
I looked at her suspiciously and then looked at Jacob who nodded. "I don't know. I don't do well with conflicts of interests," I said to them.

"Look Thickness," Jacob said calling me by my nickname he gave me. Judi shot him a look and he quickly backed up a bit. "I mean Christina. This is all business. They aren't here to start any trouble. Can you just please take a look at their business proposal and if you don't think it's solid, they'll look for someone else," he said.

I sighed and nodded. This was going against my better judgment, but taking a simple look at it wouldn't hurt. Kae walked forward and handed me the binder with their proposal in it. I skimmed it. It looked pretty good from what I could tell.
I looked up to see them watching me. I rolled my eyes. "I'll get back to you okay." That was their cue to leave my office. They all turned around to leave. I could tell Jacob wanted to linger behind. The girls were gone and he was just standing there.
"What is it Jacob Romen?" I asked him calling him by his real name.
"Damn...how I end up all the way back at Jacob Romen?" he asked me.
I shot him a look. "Okay look...are you happy? I mean really happy C?" he asked me.

I thought about his question. I was. "Yes. For the first time in a long time I truly am Jacob.

Dwayne gets me like no other. I know he and I left off on a bad foot back in school, but it's like we picked up right where we left off before all that shit happened, you know. He really really cares about me and I care about him more than I ever thought I could."

I could see the hurt in Jacobs's eyes. I know he didn't expect me to say any of that shit, but I wasn't about to lie to him just to spare his feelings.
"Did I ever have a chance?" he asked me.

I bit my bottom lip. "Honestly...I don't know. I really don't." I knew I cared about him at one point. Part of me still does. I really think I just kept him around for selfish reasons other than friendship though.

It's like I knew he loved me and even though I knew I couldn't love him back I didn't want him to go anywhere or know that.

He walked over to me and stepped behind my desk. He leaned down and kissed my cheek. "I hope we can get back to the way things were. I miss you Thickness...as a friend and I just want you to be happy." Before I could say anything he walked out the door of my office. Today was just full of damn surprises.
