His Muffin

CHAPTER 4

{Amaya Rose}

When I get home that day I call Ash straight away.

"Guess what," I squeal as soon as she picks up.

"WHAT?" she knows what's up.

"I got information on Muffin man," I blurt out.

"Did you like ask him? or stalk?" she asks, confused, "doesn't matter. What is it?"

"He is Xavier Knight... Muffin man is my boss," I announce.

"NO FUCKING WAY," she gasps, "HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW BEFORE."

"I don't know Ash, but I heard he is like super serious all the time but that's not true at all," I mumble.

"Maybe he is just like that with you," she teased.

"He just likes the muffins," I reply, blushing a bit.

"Yeah keep telling yourself that," she chuckles, "anyways I need to go, break is over."

"Alright, good luck. Love you," I smile.

"Thank you, May. Love you too," she mumbles before hanging up and returning to her work.

He has a boss aura to him but I thought that was just because he is attractive and confident. I didn't think he was the actual boss.

It's sweet of him to put the new muffin on the menu, I'm glad he liked it.

When chef told me this morning that the boss liked my muffin, I was confused because I didn't know he tried it. I figured maybe chef took one for him to try but it was Muffin man.

Oh my god I took a ride from him and indirectly called him a stalker by asking him how he knew my shift timing. I hope he didn't take it that way. What if he did? Am I going to be fired? No Amaya you did nothing wrong. Right? Yeah.

My thoughts got interrupted when I received a call, I pick up my phone.

"Hey sweetie," my mom greets from the other line.

"Hey mom," I missed her, "how is Hawaii?"

"It's great Maya, me and Garry are enjoying it a lot here, you would love it here," she sounds happy.

"That's great to hear mom," I beam.

"How have you been May?" Garry, my mom's boyfriend, asks; sounding further away.

"I've been great, I'm still trying random recipes for the bakery," I inform.

"That's good sweetie. I'm sure it'll be amazing," my mom replies.

"I hope so. Anyways mom I have to go work on something. Have fun and stay safe," I rush remembering I have another recipe to try.

"Okay darling. You too. I love you Amaya and I miss you I'll be home soon," she laughs.

"I love you too mom. And I can't wait," I smile before hanging up.

Just as I walk into my kitchen I get a knock at the door so I go to see who it is.

"Hey May," Blake, Caleb, and Brea scream together.

"Hello guys, also shh the neighbors," I looks out into the hallway to see if anyone is outside.

"Sorry," they mumble, walking into my apartment.

I've known them since my first year and next year is my last year, more like in a few months. My break ends in around 4 months, then last year begins. I'm excited but also nervous. I hope I have a bakery by the time I'm done with fourth year.
