CHAPTER 10

{Amaya Rose}

"So, that's how I found this place... And also, why I hate Jen," He mumbles nervously.

I don't say anything. She wasted 4 years? Just like that?

"Does this make you not want to date me?" Aww, he looks so sad.

"No, Of course, I want to date you. I'm just confused," I confirm.

"About what?" He raises his eyebrow.

"Are you sure she knew how that works?" I continue when he still looks confused, "I mean, maybe she thought that the note means you guys are broken up."

"Muffin I'm pretty sure she knew how a break-up works," he sighs.

"Are you sure though? Did you try explaining that to her? Maybe she didn't know that you have to read the letter first," I explain, maybe she was confused.

"Baby. She knew," he chuckles, is he sure? I also ignore the way my heart flutters when he uses the nickname... "Don't be naïve. She isn't dumb."

I nod, yeah true. How does someone not know something like that?

"Let's stop talking about this, okay?" it comes out as more of a statement than a question, "I don't want to talk about Jen."

"Okay. So, do you like anything other than blueberry muffins?" I change the topic.

"Yes. You." He smiles down at me. I'm glad it's dark cause my face is probably red by now.

"I like you too," I mumble.

"Here," he hands me a cupcake. I take a bite and hum. It's good.

"So how did you have time to set this up?" I know he was busy.

"My friends did it last minute thankfully," he grins.

"You have nice friends," I nod.

"Yeah. You'll love them," he beams. Cute.

"That's good. I want to get along with them," I comment, I hope I'm around for that.

"Well, I plan to keep you for a while so they better get used to you," he smirks. Is he trying to kill me?

We sat there for a few hours before heading back to the car to go home.

Xavier opens the door for me and slips into his side after I get settled.

I yawn cause I'm starting to get tired but I make sure to stay awake while we are sitting in comfortable silence.

"You can sleep," Xavier smiles at me, putting his hand on my thigh. Butterflies. "I'll wake you up when we reach."

I hum, liking the feeling of his hand on my thigh, maybe just close my eyes for a few minutes.

"Amaya. Muffin. Wake up, we're here," Xavier gently shakes me awake, slowly stroking my hair.

I open my eyes and smile at him, 'was I asleep the entire ride?'

"I'm sorry for sleeping in the middle of our date," I apologize.

"Don't be. You look adorable while you sleep," he laughs.

He gets out of the car and opens my door, holding his hand out. I take it and pull myself out of the car.

"Come on, I'll walk you to your apartment," he gestures.

We walk into the building after he closes the car and we walk into the elevator. I press my floor number and when we reach I walk to my apartment with him behind me.
