Carm taught Yukari step by step how to use a gun,

The gun was extremely loud, hence why Carm always kept his tank helmet on while using them, because they had headphones built in.

Yukari had strong hands because she was the loader, but unsteady.

Her hands flinched while using the weapon,

"Breathe...." Carm said

Yukari tried to take deep breath

"Easy, pull the trigger back slowly, don't do it too much"

Yukari moved her fingers back a little.

*BANG!

The gun fired,

a smoking hole was in the target.

"Good!" Carm said

He said it almost like a proud father did,

Well, mainly because he taught her something.

Carm felt her arms wrap around him as he tried to walk away.

She snuggled her head in on his back.

"Why are you doing this now?" Carm asked

"Uh, uh, I-I'm c-cold" she said, stuttering a whole lot.

"Do you need me to get you a coat?" He said back.

"Uh, um I—, n-no t-this is fine." She said

She paused for a moment as Carm just stood there just staring off into the trees for a little bit.

"C-can I tell you a secret?" She said

Is she going to confess?

But still, Carm didn't expect her to say that

"Uh——" was the only thing he managed to get out

Yukari didn't wait for a response

"You make me feel safe...." She said as she tightened her grip.

Awwwwwww, how sweet.....

But seriously, she's been gone from her parents and her home she's know for lord knows how long, and has been plunked into a war zone for a few DAYS now.

She must think of him almost as some kind of parent that's not an actual parent?

A caretaker?

Either way, Carm simply returned the hug slightly, to make her feel better.

The forest was eerily quiet,

"Hey uh, can you let go now? I need to go back to the tank..."
