"...within the core of each of us is the child we once were. This child constitutes the foundation of what we have become, who we are, and what we will be." - Neuroscientist, Dr. R. Joseph
If you're ever going to beat Spencer in something, it fucking better be this. You're a better shot than him, so this should be a piece of cake. You're sitting on the kitchen floor with your back against the kitchen island with your weapon in hand. You peek over the side of the island and see him dash across the living room.
You take your top tier nerf gun and aim it at him, but he is too quick. You shoot, but the bullet doesn't hit him.
"Shit," you whisper.
His infectious laugh spreads throughout the apartment, but you're going to wipe that smug smile off his face quickly. Maybe if you bombard him with nerf bullets, they'll hit him and you'll win this war. You scramble to your feet and run into the living room with your gun out in front of you. He pops up behind the couch, and you empty your barrel as quickly as possible to try and get him. Some of the bullets hit him, but the majority miss due to him dodging them.
He aims his gun at you and shoots you, and you scream in terror at the bullets that hit you. You run out of bullets before he does, and when he sees the look of defeat on your face, he comes out from behind the couch with a devilish smile.
"No, Spencer, let me reload."
"No, you're going to get it."
You scream and run away from him, and he takes this as a fun challenge. The apartment isn't big to begin with, but you manage to dodge his efforts to catch you. That is, until you reach the bedroom with nowhere to go. Spencer doesn't have a balcony, and you entered through the only door that you need to escape to. You're cowering in the corner when Spencer enters, and he shuts the door behind him so you can't escape so easily.
"No, please Spencer. I beg of you, please spare my life," you say dramatically. "I have a family."
"It's the end of the line for you."
"I'll do anything. Please spare my life," you beg.
Spencer lifts his gun and shoots you right over the heart, and you gasp as if you actually got shot. You groan in pain and go limp, only able to keep this facade up for a little bit. You and Spencer break into a fit of giggles as he helps you to your feet.
"That wasn't fair," you playfully shove him out of the way. "I ran out of bullets."
"That's not my problem."
"I demand a rematch, Reid."
"Bring it on."
You two start to clean the apartment so that all the nerf bullets are accounted for. You're loading them into your gun as you go along, but your phone rings that cause you to take a small break. Rossi has texted you, and you frown at his words.
Come to the airport. I need you. Come alone.
"What is it?" Spencer asks.
"It's Rossi. He needs my help, apparently. He wants me to go to the airport with him alone."
"I wonder why."
"I'm not sure. I guess I'll get dressed. I'll let you know what's going on when I do."
There are two gobags that you have prepared. One is in the office and the other is in the apartment just in case you need to get out in a rush. You grab that bag and kiss Spencer as you leave the apartment. Why does Rossi need you at the airport, and why does he need you to come alone? Does Hotch know that he is going rogue? He is going to be going with Spencer to Connecticut to interview a serial killer, but is Hotch aware of Rossi's actions?
