3 pieces of cake later and a trip to the bathroom to wash my hands off I was walking through the door of the dorms and slipping into my pajamas. I had gotten cake on my hands when I accidentally brushed my hand against Four's and I pulled my hand back, right into my piece of cake. It was so embarrassing.
I sighed to myself and laid my head against the pillow and fell into a deep sleep.

"Where is it!?" I yelled tossing my pillow on the ground. I ran my hand over my two braids I had just neatly made, trying to stay calm. I sat down on the ground and looked under my bed with a groan.
"What are you looking for, again?" Fallon asked running eye liner over her left eye.
"My ring." I said standing up and walking over to the bathroom checking for the 4th time. I ran my hands over my leggings that stopped just below my belly button. I pressed my palms to my eyes and suppressed a sigh.
"I'll just go get a new one," I said standing up and looking back at Fallon. "Want to come?" I asked straightening out my shirt, if I were to raise my arms a slight bare piece of my stomach would show. I had learned to love my body and be confident in who and what I am.
"Actually.." She said biting the inside of her cheek, "I was sort of going to meet Will." That took me by surprise, I guess she could tell because she said something. "I hope that's not weird.. Since we're friends and all."
"No, no, no," I said and smiled down at her. "Just.. Have fun." I said with a small nod as she nodded back.

The hallways had always been a maze to me. I was lost within minutes and I had to be careful to avoid sunlight. I was walking down a dark hallway when I saw Four, I turned my heel and kept walking. I crossed my arms and steered clear of sunlight. I heard his footsteps, even after every turn I took. I finally stopped and looked back, he was no where to be found. Maybe I was going crazy. I shrugged and turned back around.
"What are doing?" I gasped so loud it echoed off the empty hall walls. He asked the question so casually I almost forgot to be scared.
"Why are you following me?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I asked you first."
"And your point is?" He wouldn't look away.
"Are you skipping your blood intake again?" He asked, I had almost forgot. "I need a new daylight ring, okay?" I finally gave in.
"You're just in luck." He dug in his dark pants pocket and pulled something out. I was confused at first but then found out that it was a necklace, with an emerald crystal in the center.
"It's beautiful." I whispered.
"It's yours," he said handing it to me.
"What? I can't just t"- he was already behind me twisting the back two pieces. I looked down at the emerald crystal then at him when he spoke.
"I had a witch put a daylight spell on it, so you're all set." He said putting his hands in his pockets with a shrug.
"Wait, how did you kno"- I was cut off by the smell of blood, but this blood smelled so much different. And better.
I felt my eyes become irritated and found myself at the end of the hall. I ran my tongue over my now sharp teeth and made my way toward the infirmary where the scent was coming from. I felt a firm hand on my shoulder.
"E, calm down." I heard Four's voice. I felt myself shake my head, I was loosing control.
"I need that blood." I said as his firm began to become tighter on my arm. I groaned and grabbed it throwing him off. He flew across the hall, his back slamming against the cement wall. I looked over at him as he brought himself up- the wall behind him now cracked, and felt myself calm down. I looked at him, his eyes found mine, then I walked back down the hall, my hands running over my braids and not looking back.

"Today you will see your number on the board, if your above the red line then you made it to part 2. If your below it, your cut." Eric yelled at all the initiates, we had each just finished our blood bags and now we were back in the training room waiting for our final scores.
"Good luck." He said stepping away from the board.
I was number 26.
I made it to the second half, along with Fallon, Will, Rick- and sadly -Peter, Molly, and Drew.
I looked over, Four was staring, after cracking his knuckles he simply looked away. Fallon shook my shoulders. "We did it! We made it to the second half!" I smiled as I tried to mirror her excitement but it was a challenge, especially when I was trying to ignore the blazing eyes boring into my back.
