Gladion entered the room a few minutes later, partly to scold Silvally for biting Chloe and partly to praise him for not putting up with her bullshit. However, by that time Silvally and the girls were sound asleep. All the Pokémon were piled at their feet or on their laps sound asleep as well. Even though Mitsuki had a warm, fluffy, fox Pokémon nestled in her arms, she still seemed cold and even Leah facing little Blaze and Mitsuki seemed cold. Desperately trying not to make a sound, Gladion grabbed a knitted blanket and draped it so carefully that it covered all three girls. Then, he gently moved the sleeping Pokémon onto the blanket and closer to a source of heat: the thunderstorm knocked the power out in the hotel. Summer nights in Kalos, especially edging toward autumn, could be beastly cold.

He himself pulled a second blanket from a nearby closet and laid down on the chaise lounge across from the bed. With the security systems down, it was possible a savage wild Pokémon could attack, and none of the girls were properly equipped to deal with such a threat. At least with him in the room with Silvally and the rest of his team he could protect them with a moment's notice if the need arose.

Silvally's so comfortable with Mitsuki, Gladion thought. I've never seen it with anyone but myself. Perhaps she was right about his evolution method having abilities regarding friendship and trust. I wonder if one of the other Type: Nulls met her would it bond with her? Gah, why am I thinking about this? She can't stay here... but how long will we be searching for their escape portal if it is, in fact, an Ultra Wormhole? Hmph... I'll discuss this with Faba and Mother in the morning.

Mitsuki woke the next morning with Silvally completely curled around her and Blaze snugly caressed in her arms. Maria and Leah had been somehow pushed off of Silvally, but last she checked the blanket was at her feet, and how did the rest of the Pokémon get crowded around her?

She rolled over a little bit and looked towards the door... exactly at the same second Gladion's striking eyes fluttered open. Umbreon had been swatting at his nose for about three minutes.

"Umbreon, stooooop~" he muttered, swatting at the Moonlight Pokémon. He sat up and let his messy hair tumble over his face and shoulder. He brushed his fringe out of his face and glanced upward meeting Mitsuki's eyes. "Oh... Good morning... Did I... Did I wake you up?"

"No... You didn't. I-I was just getting up."

He sat up and stretched his arms upward toward the ceiling, cracking a stiff joint or two in the process. "Arrrrgggghhhh.... Another day, another issue entirely..."

"Oh, boy... What happened this time?" Mitsuki asked, rolling over to sit on her butt.

He sighed, leaning over to rest his elbows on his knees. "The power was knocked out last night, so I came in here to check on everybody. Obviously it's still out, and raining pretty heavily. This will delay work on the car, and it was pretty damaged too. We still don't know what caused the engine to blow, so there's that. Now that there's... nine of us and more Pokémon than I can count on two hands, the car is too small for us and our luggage, so we'll have to figure that out. The problem is Mother wants me to be involved when I just want to live my teen years like a normal teen. If it weren't for the rain I'd be out there battling before you could bat an eyelid."

"I imagine this is the kind of stress you would be put under if this was uniquely the Games universe and not a combination and you were trying to run the Aether Foundation on your own at this age."

"What?"

"Okay," Mitsuki said, shifting to face him, "at the end of the Sun and Moon Anime you and your family go on this whole journey to find your father following Magearna, I said that before, right?"
