The group trooped back to the hotel. Mitsuki was beyond happy; she was beaming. Her eyes were bright, she felt fantastic, and she was so proud of herself and her Pokémon. But she felt no need to rub it in anyone's face that she won. She only ever gave advice to fellow performers.

Chloe was furious, but too tired to argue. She just changed her clothes and went to sleep. Josh, on the other hand, had quite changed his mind about his girlfriend. He wanted Mitsuki. But since Gladion was hanging around he had competition.

Speaking of, after everyone else went to bed, it became clear to Gladion that Mitsuki hadn't eaten that night. He could hear her stomach snarling at her from across the room, even as she cradled her new Pokémon Egg against her stomach.

"Hey," he whispered, "are you hungry?"

"Ehh?" she hummed. "Where's that coming from?"

"Your stomach is growling at you."

"Where on earth would we find something to eat at 10p.m. on a Friday?"

"You'd be shocked. Come on. I could do with a few snacks for the road anyway." He tossed her one of his hoodies and her purse.

Upon catching the hoodie, Mitsuki noticed which one it was. It was the one he'd been wearing for most of Gen Seven. Sleeveless, warm, black, and streaked with a crimson slash across the center front. It was exactly as she'd imagined it to look in real life. Her cheeks flushed, but Gladion was waiting for her. The black hoodie was a deep contrast to the white knit sweater she'd thrown on after the performance with a pair of leggings and her sneakers. It even smelled like him: a husky scent of oak, spices, and perhaps some other kind of cologne she wasn't aware of.

Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she summoned Blaze and Rockruff, picked up the Egg, and said, "Let's go."

He nodded, slipping one of the room keys into his back pocket. Silvally stood up, smirking lightly. That knowing grin made Mitsuki wonder what he knew that she didn't.

Once they made it to the ground floor, Silvally stood in front of them. Gladion mounted his quadrupedal partner's back, ready to ride, and motioned for Mitsuki to join him. Mitsuki's eyes went wide.

"Y-You're sure...?" she whispered, timidly.

A slight smile pulled at the corners of his lips. "I'm sure." He held out a hand, pulling her up onto Silvally's back.

"W-Where exactly are we going?"

"There's a general store down the street. We can stop there." He spurred Silvally on without much warning, causing Mitsuki to lose some of her grip. Clutching the egg with one hand, she gripped Gladion around the waist with the other. His edgy pleather jacket felt soft between her fingers. Gladion was seemingly unfazed, but Mitsuki's cheeks were beet red. Knowing she was an Aura Guardian perhaps left Gladion on edge about his emotions and thoughts.

It only took about five minutes for them to reach the store. Mitsuki and Gladion split up to find snacks and actual food to eat. Mitsuki picked up sandwich fixings and some various chips, as well as Pokémon food. She also eyed some bags of candy she knew Leah, Maria, and herself would like. Gladion was also eyeing the candies, wondering if he should indulge in his sister's sweet tooth.

Their eyes met.

Mitsuki was first to turn away, looking at bags of mixed and flavored nuts. She tugged his hoodie's hood up over her cheeks to hide the growing blush that was making itself noticeable.

"Do you want the candy?" Gladion asked.

Mitsuki froze. "W-What?"

"I asked if you wanted the candy."
