Aden Evans is a Wolfblood.
Part human, part wolf. With powers of speed, hearing, smell, and strength in her blood.
Aden fled to Stoneybridge when she was fourteen to escape her wild and vengeful pack, where she met Maddy Smith and her parents, a pa...
TALL TREES BLURRED together as Aden looked out of the passenger side window as Kai drove the silver SUV. They'd both been quiet for the past ten minutes, both of them in their own heads as the radio played softly.
While the drive from the cabin into town was becoming more and more familiar, today was a whole different thing to get used to.
Today was Aden's first day at her new school and Kai's first day at the local hospital as a doctor.
The last few weeks of getting adjusted and settled into their new home had led up to this moment where they could start integrating themselves back into a semi-normal life. A familiar routine.
Aden glanced up at the GPS, seeing that they were now only a couple minutes away from the school, where Kai would drop her off before heading to work.
It was then that Kai spoke for the first time since they left the house.
"You have everything you need?" Kai asked her, and she could practically see his mind moving a million miles a minute, "You got your lunch? School schedule? Pencils?"
"Check, check, and check." Aden nodded, "I double checked everything before we left."
Actually, she checked it like four times because her anxiousness over going to a new school wouldn't let her relax.
"Well if you get through the day and realize you need something, let me know when I get back from work and we can go to the store and get anything you need." He told her.
"Thanks," She replied, "I think I have everything I'll need. We got everything off the school supplies list they gave us at orientation."
Kai nodded, and Aden glanced over at him, dressed in his white coat and sage green scrubs underneath. She smiled a little, excited that all of his hard work had led to this day. Even if she was beyond nervous about her first day of school, she was also beyond happy for his new job at the hospital.
Pretty soon, Kai turned a corner and Aden caught a glimpse of the school, realizing that the two-story but small building was her new school. The sign out front said Livingston High School and past the school, the scenic mountains in the distance seemed to paint into the school.
