Summary: any kind of summary would give spoilers, so no.

Will stared at the casket. The boy laying inside looked peaceful, mouth shaped in a small, sad smile. Raven locks framed his face, curling around his ears. Truly and utterly beautiful in an ethereal way that couldn't be fully captured by the mortal eye. The son of Hades laid perfectly still, pale as snow and as lifeless as a doll. Dressed up in a somber black suit, hair spread like a halo, surrounded by white roses, nearly the same color as his skin.

People filled the room, mourning their loss. A beloved friend, brother, and fiancé.

Will had proposed not even a week before, but already, their plans were dashed, scattered to the wind and not to be reclaimed.

It had been hours since the funeral began and still some sad souls remained, though they slowly drifted out until only Hazel and Will remained.

"Hazel, do you... do you think I could have some alone time with him?" Will's eyes brimmed with tears that threatened to spill for the millionth time that evening.

Hazel wiped her cheek with here wrist brushing away the already flowing tears on her face. "Of course." She croaked.

Will gave her a hand a light squeeze before he watched her leave turning back to the casket and wiper his eyes. He leaned over the pale face of his beloved and kissed the slack lips lightly. "Neeks..." He mumbled quietly, nose to nose with Nico Di Angelo, his love, his friend, his companion through everything, the man he was supposed to marry and be happy with for the rest of his life, the man who was his life, the man who consumed every waking moment of his life, the man who lingered in his dreams, weather it be day or night, the man who loved him unconditionally, unendingly, and the a man he would always love, unconditionally and unendingly. "Neeks..." He said a second time, calling out for his love, desperate for a response. "Neeks, sunshine, I know you're not dead." He whispered into the pale man's ear.

Nico's eyes fluttered open, and he looked up into the bright eyes above him. "Yeah, no shit." Nico hissed. "Now get me outta here."

"Yes my love." Will smiled slightly, eyes still red from the display he'd given earlier. He helped Nico out of the casket, trying not to trail any petals onto the floor, and closed the lid.

Nico continued to stare at Will's eyes.

"What?" Will asked, sniffling a little.

"Were you actually crying?" Nico asked, slightly confused.

Will looked at his feet, a little embarrassed. "Even though I knew it wasn't real, it was scary to think that it was, like, what if it was real. We have our whole lives ahead of us, it's scary that we could loose it as easily as this." He gestured at the whole setup around them, another tear rolling down his cheek.

Nico's expression softened and he wiped the stray tear from Will's face. "I'm fine sunshine, and we really do have the rest of our lives ahead of us." He stroked Will's cheek lovingly, then took his hand. "But right now we have to go before any of the others come back and see I'm not in my coffin like a good little dead boy."

Will laughed, though his throat felt a little raw. "Okay, sunshine, let's go." He held tightly to Nico's hand, resolving to never let go.

Nico led him out the back door and they left, going to live the rest of their life together happily, though sometimes it had its hiccups, they loved each other to the end and beyond.

————————————————————

I said through the end and beyond because you can't convince me that Nico didn't have Hades prepare a room for them in his palace so they could spend their afterlife together!

Also I want y'all's headcannons for why Nico needed to fake his death, because I've got nothin'. Sorry for the extra short chapter by the way, I just really wanted to write! Now thank you and goodnight you beautiful people!
