you plopped down on your couch, watching Xiao take off his jacket, leaving his sleeveless turtleneck on, before plopping down beside you.

it was honestly lucky that neither of you was drenched. otherwise, your date would've had to leave his jacket and risk catching a cold.

neither of you dared to say anything, simply laying there with eyes closed, too tired from running all the way to your house.

seconds passed before your mind finally caught on. you opened your eyes, looking over to Xiao to make sure his eyes were closed as you blushed profusely.

your eyes stared at the hand Xiao held earlier, your face trying its best to conceal a smile. 

you couldn't be happier knowing that his first instinct was to bring you with him instead of leaving you to run after him.

your ears managed to hear your phone ringing from inside your tote bag and your hand lazily picked it up before plopping down once again.

you stared at your screen, seeing an incoming facetime from Keqing before picking it up. your face quickly lit up seeing your friends on the screen.

you stared at their loss of words confusedly, not remembering that you were sitting right beside Xiao with your arms touching.

meaning, his "sleeping" face was also shown on their screen.

"Y/n? who's that?" Beidou started interrogating you.

"is that your boyfriend?" Ningguang joined, startling you.

"wha-" you answered them before you cut off your own words, realizing Xiao was beside you.

"Y/n, is that Xiao?" Ganyu chimed in.

"you know him?" Ningguang asked her light-blue-haired friend.

"We're in the same major. he's not a bad person," Ganyu answered, trying to calm her friends down.

"Y/n, are you alone with him?" Keqing asked, silencing her friend's chattering.

"yeah, why?" you asked her right back, not seeing anything wrong with it.

"Y/n. why is your face red?" Shenhe finally joined, leaving all her other friends speechless.

"uh-" "YEAH. anyways, make sure to bring him over if you two ever date!" Beidou laughed dryly before ending the call.

your shoulders relaxed, knowing they won't call you again for the night. just as you closed your eyes, a voice to your ear made you shudder.

"Are you done?" you opened your eyes to see Xiao's face a little bit too close to yours. 

"yeah, did I wake you up?" you answered him, trying your best to act normal.

"I wasn't asleep. I just thought it would be awkward if I had to talk to them" 

you nodded as an answer, not even knowing if he could see it. 

"So you know Ganyu?" you asked him, trying to start a conversation.

"kinda. I also saw you with her around my building a few days ago" he mentioned, catching you off guard.

"I was hoping to meet you since you mentioned we've never met around campus," you confessed to which he answered with a hum.

Xiao could feel his face burning once again, which made him had to close his eyes, avoiding all eye contact with you. 

he mentally slapped himself for going the other way every time he saw you. 

"do you wanna listen to some music together?" you turned your head toward his.

"Sure," Xiao answered you.
