"wait, I have something for you."

your legs stopped in their tracks as you were taken aback by his sudden words, your figure turning back toward him curiously.

"wait, uhh turn back again" Xiao awkwardly gestured for you to turn around, facing away from him.

you did as he told you, curious as to what he wanted while a little nervous. it would be a lie if you didn't expect him to stab you out of nowhere.

that's what usually happens in movies

you tried to sharpen your hearing as you could hear Xiao walking closer toward you and he was rummaging through his tote bag.

your eyes widened as a cold feeling of metal touched your collarbone, his hands passing the sides of your neck in an instant.

"a necklace?" you asked the obvious, trying to ease the tension to which he hummed in response.

you could feel his knuckles occasionally bumping into your nape as he struggled to hook the ends of the necklace.

you could feel his breaths on your back, sending shivers down your spine. feeling his breath stop, you turned your head around seeing him step back as the necklace was hooked.

your legs quickly took you to the nearest mirrory surface, the window right beside your front door to see the necklace Xiao gave you.

"snowflake? do you like winter?" you asked him, a smile plastered on your face.

"kind of," he shrugged although seemingly pleased that you don't dislike it.

"It's really pretty, thanks Xiao"

"glad you like it, it suits you well" Xiao replied, turning his heels to go back to his home.

"wait, wait! I have a gift for you too" you stated, stopping him.

seeing that you've got his attention, you motioned for him to follow you inside. you left him to sit on the couch as you went to your room, looking for the gift you had prepared but almost forgot about.

on the other hand, Xiao was wondering if his friends said anything about him not being with them as his phone had been on do not disturb.
