Where am I? Am I in heaven? Nah. There's no way I'm dead yet. Patricia isn't going to take me down that easily. But... Honestly. Where am I? In a world of enchantment? It really seems like it, because everywhere there are fairies flying, magic spells being cast, and new spells being discovered. It feels like nothing could be bad here, and that no one could get hurt or be sad.

The sandy ground has a magical shimmery touch. It looks like solid gold! The buildings seem to be made out of gems and crystals, and the cars are flying on floating highways! There seemed to be no humans, but there were only fairies and fairy pets flying everywhere. Women dressed in colorful short sundresses that go up to their knees are walking around and holding little children dressed in summer clothes. Men are speed walking in and out of the tall skyscrapers that touch the sky.

Many people come up to me and greet me, and even though I don't know them, they seem to know me. In the back of my head, a bell rings. I know I have seen them before, but where? I tried to recall when I had been here before, but I couldn't think of anything other than right now.

The long line of 20 fairies all introduced themselves as they each gave me a shiny pearl bead. Each pearl bead changed colors from white to iridescent as the fairy giving the pearl me said a blessing. Each said a blessing like, "May you have hope your whole life" and "May you stay happy even in the darkest times". The last fairy was an old gray-haired fairy who gave a bigger pearl than the rest and said, "May you succeed in everything you wish to do well in." and strung the beads together with a golden cord that he said was stronger than diamonds. He then laid the necklace of pearls around my neck and said, "When you go to the giant's world with your sister, squeeze the biggest pearl. That will make a duplicate of the necklace. Give that necklace to Emily. Your sister"

Suddenly, I heard loud footsteps that shook the ground approaching me. Turning around, I took a better look at the giants that were sitting around a campfire a mile away from the fairy city. I walked closer to the giants, and the 1-mile distance was soon a 1-yard distance. I was so curious that I got closer and touched them, but they didn't seem to see me. It was like only fairies could see me! I was invisible to the giants, I seemed like a ghost. My hand passed right through the giants, and they didn't even turn to look at me.

I was so confused at why I could touch and be seen by fairies and not by giants that I failed to notice the fairies that greeted me were crowding around me and pulling me away. I strained to hear the conversation the giants were having as the fairies gently pulled me away from the camp. The leader of the giants said his name was Norm. Norm........... I know that name! Although I couldn't place who that I knew had that name, Norm kept going on about how he had the right to take away Eva Potter, blah blah blah. Eva Potter! That's my mom! Does that mean that he was the one who took away me and Emily's mom from us? I was about to yell at the giant to explain himself, but I suddenly stopped. All of these people and names I seemed to recognize! It seemed like I started fading, but I tried to stay in, pushing and shoving the fairies who gave me the pearl necklace to stop me from leaving. I needed to hear more. But soon, I was gone, in nothing but darkness. I instantly felt bad for shoving the fairies. All they did was to try and help me, but I was swallowed into the dark before I could say sorry.

Pain. Pain, and pain, and then more pain. It just kept coming. My head was throbbing, and I didn't want to sit up, but I really wanted to take a look at my surroundings. I sat up, and the first thing I saw was Em pacing around the room, which she rarely does.

"Em," I manage.

"ROSE!!!! How long have you been awake? Do you feel fine right now? I have a million questions!"

"I've been awake long enough to know that you were pacing around the room for about three minutes. I'm fine. Where were-" I suddenly couldn't stop coughing, and my throat felt like it would explode. Em started to run away, but then said to me that she was getting dad. Why did she need to tell me that? Well, I know that is the same old Em.

Just when I felt like my throat would actually explode, dear ole Emily came back with a glass of water. WATER! How good that seemed in a situation like this. Emily raised the cup to my mouth and helped me to swallow the water. My throat didn't want to drink any water, and I was forced to spit out 75% of the water in my mouth into the empty cup Emily put under my mouth. My coughing wasn't that bad after drinking some of the water, but suddenly, my throat's burning sensation came back, and I was soon coughing twice as badly.

The nurses suddenly came in and rolled my "bed" into another room that looked too much like the surgery room mom had to go in when she hurt her lungs badly. How did mom hurt her lungs while crying? I have no clue. Suddenly, I was struck by a stray thought. What if... I had hurt MY lungs? My thoughts were confirmed when I heard the doctor tell Emily and dad that I had to do lung surgery that would take 2 days. 2 DAYS???? How was Emily and I supposed to find the necklaces now?

I suddenly remembered my dream and looked down. Sure enough, there was the pearl necklace. Even though it was a dream, it felt real. It occurred to me that it might HAVE been real, since the necklace was real. I quickly pushed the thought out. There was no way the dream could have been real. In my dream, I was completely healed.

I took a closer look at my necklace and counted the beads. There were exactly 20 beads, including the big one the old man gave me. I rubbed the big bead to calm down my racing heart, and words suddenly appeared on the shiny surface.

"May you succeed in everything you wish to do well in. – Arnold Bergany" It was the same blessing the old man gave me! I rubbed the other beads and the same happened to them. That meant that the old man was named Arnold Bergany. That also meant that the dream was partially real. Arnold Bergany the old man really did talk to me! Which meant that the task he gave me was also real.

Was about to squeeze the big pearl to make a duplicate of the necklace when I realized that Emily was gone. Arnold's words flashed back into my head.

"When you go to the giant's world with your sister, squeeze the biggest pearl. That will make a duplicate of the necklace. Give that necklace to Emily. Your sister." I have to wait until... I'm in the giant's world with Emily? It made sense when he said that to me in the dream, but now... I don't think I know about this "giant's world". So, How am I supposed to give Emily her necklace?

I continued to cough while I got prepared for surgery thingamabob. Fun! Yay... Not. I didn't think I would survive this, and I started to imagine my will...
