Straight on till morning
Silas Regan, a boy who ran away and ended up on Neverland. The place where you never have to grow up, never have to worry about adult problems. Or a place where you can forget that at the age of 17 as your father tells you that your not going to become the heir to the throne.
He was supposed to be the one who ruled when he turned 21, that was what he had been told since he was a boy by his mother and father. Even the royal rules where that the eldest was the one who claimed the Crown. Yet there he was, sitting in a tree watching as his father claimed that his little sister would rule, not him.
He was invisible to his father, to the kingdom. So when he heard a melody one night, he didn't think twice before getting dressed and putting his cloak on before he headed to the entrance of the Castle.
He had heard the stories about the Piper, how he lured boys in with the melody that floated from his panpipes. It was a magical melody, one that only lost boys were able to hear.
And Silas was lost
As he made his way out, one of the new guards had seen him. He never socialize with the Kingdom after being informed about the crown being passed to his sister. So he had thought Silas was an intruder, here to harm the princess, so he attacked.
After the short battle, the boys face was covered in his blood and the guards. Under the blood, he had a large gash smeared over his face. But he didn't care, he could still the sounds of the music . So he quickly ran into the enchanted forest, chasing the piper.
The further he got, the louder the music was. When he finally got to the source of the magical sound, he saw boys in masks dancing wildly around a large bon fire. All the boys were hooting and hollering.
He acted quickly, tying his handkerchief around his nose and mouth
His new scar was still visible but he didn't mind, it made him look bad ass.
He slowly walked over to the boys dancing in the bonfire, watching how they danced so he would know how to mimic it.
When he knew how to mimic the boys, he joined in on the hooting and hollering. For the first time in Silas' life, he was actually enjoying himself. He looked around and finally saw who had been playing the panpipe.
It was a hooded figure, standing at the edge of the opening to the hidden bonfire. The figure stood all on his lonesome. He was playing his panpipes so majestically, that Silas couldn't find it in himself to look away.
But, soon enough, the piper had stopped playing. And walked to the group of boys who had finally stopped dancing. He lifts his head to where he could see them, but they couldn't see him, and looks at all the new lost boys he has acquired.
"Do you want adventure!" He shouts
"YES!" Silas and the group of boys shouted
"Do you want no more bed times!"
"YES"
"Are you sick of your parents disregarding you!"
That one hit home to Silas. and when the boys answered again, he was the loudest one to answer.
"YES!"
"Then come with me" the Pied Piper commanded. "To the second star to the right and straight on til morning"
"Come with me to a land where we never have to worry about growing up, never have to worry about grown up problems!" He speaks with so much conviction, that the boys can't help but be in awe at his statement.
The Hooded figure hollers into the midnight sky. All the boys join in on the screeching. Silas had joined to, but he couldn't help but feel at though it was all a trick. Like the Pied Piper was playing with the boys
"And how do you suppose we get there, Piper?" His question made everyone go silent as the looked in between the boy and the Pied Piper.
Silas watched as the boys body shook with silent chuckles, seeming amused with the question.
The Pied Piper slowly raised his hand and pulled his hood down. Showing the smirk he had covering his face.
"Because I'm Peter Pan." He stated to Silas before turning to the rest of the boys, "I'm the King of Neverland! a land full of Adventure. Full of games, full of freedom!" The group hollered at his answer, they seemed pleased with the idea of what this mystery land held.
"All you need, is to believe." He turned back to Silas, "believe in me, believe in Neverland, and believe that any thing you wish for can come true" he walked over to where Silas was standing and brought his head down to the boys height.
"Do you believe in me?" He whispered
Silas contemplated his situation. He could stay in the Enchanted Forest, where he was been invisible to his father for years and rejected of his title as ruler. He had nothing to loose at this point.
Peter watched as the gears turned in the boys head, he decided to give the boy one last push in the direction of going with him. "A little bit of Faith, trust and pixie dust never hurt, dearie"
And just like that, Silas had agreed to go to this new land.
The land of no adults.
A land without grown up responsibilities.
A land, where he never has to deal with being second best.
