"101 Cheesy Pick Up Lines That'll Instantly Make Them Fall For You," he read aloud off his new phone. "Werd. What does that have to do with "picking up lines?" He scoffed but continued to read the WikiHow article. Garmadon was sitting on the couch and scrolling on his phone. He saw a valentine's day post from a while ago and long story short: he had fallen into a rabbit hole.

"Hmmm. What would Vinny say to that…?"

"Hey, how was your day?" Vinny asked as he hauled his camera into the apartment. Garmadon looked up to see his tired smile, fighting to keep his own smile in check.

"It was fine. Just learning about using the internets," he explained. "How was your day?" he asked blankly.

"Tiring, but not the worst I've been through. Only a minor threat today." Vinny sighed, slumping on the couch.

"That's rough."

"Yeah. But on the bright side, I get tomorrow off! Some federal holiday or something," he turned to Garmadon and smiled again, trying to capture his attention.

"What do you want?" he mumbled. It was strange; being mean was difficult around Vinny. His heart leaped as he finally looked up at him.

"I was thinking of going to the animal shelter tomorrow. I'm sure you'd fall in love with the animals!" Garmadon felt his face heat up as he nodded.

"Yes, animals. Cute… carpet balls." The words 'in love' were ringing through his head, swirling his own thoughts out of order.

"Haha sure, Garm." The nickname slipped from Vinny's mouth, but he didn't bother to correct it. Garmadon however, bit the inside of his cheek to keep from bursting into flames.

"Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you something," Garmadon said, clearing his throat. "Are you a parking ticket? ‘Cause you’ve got ‘fine’ written all over you," he deadpanned, reading from smudged ink on his palm. Vinny froze, staring at Garmadon.

"Wh-what?" he sputtered. "Uh. Thanks?" He furrowed his brows and laughed awkwardly. "I'm going to make us some noodles."

Well that failed.

"I’d like to take you to the movies, but they don’t let you bring in your own snacks," Garmadon said during a movie night of their own, nearly startling Vinny off the couch.

"Garmadon, what was that for?" he blinked.

"What's wrong, Vinny of NGVT News?" he asked, unphased.

"You- you just-"

"Come back over here and watch this annoying toy movie with me. I want to know how it ends." Vinny slowly scooted closer, a foot apart from Garmadon. He gasped as Garmadon's hand touched his, slowly turning to grasp it. He sighed, enjoying the movie as their fingers linked together.

"Goodnight, Garmadon," Vinny said softly, exiting the living room.

"Do you ever get tired from running through my thoughts all night?" he mumbled, causing Vinny to swivel around to look at him.

"What did you say-"

"Goodnight, Vinny of NGVT News," he turned away from him and began to drift off.

"Goodnight to you too, Garmadon," he said, frozen in place.

Garmadon had one more idea, though doing it while watching TV wasn’t the best idea. "I’m really glad I just bought life insurance, because when I saw you, my heart stopped."

"Okay Garmadon, what is going on? You've been saying all these weird things!" he said, standing up in front of the TV.

"Whatever do you mean?" Garmadon asked, eyes not meeting Vinny's as he tried to play cool.

"Y-you-"

"If you're talking about picking up lines then you don't have to worry." He bit his lip.

"Pick up lines?"

"Yes, those. But I don't understand them. I thought they'd make you… fall for me." He sighed in defeat and slouched deeper into the couch.

"Garmadon, I'm confused. Why do you want me to fall for you?" He knelt down in front of him, meeting his eyes. He bit his cheek to stop his smile.

"Well, you tell me to be open with my… feelings, so here it goes." He took a deep breath, closing his eyes so he wouldn't see Vinny's expression.

"I think… I," he shook his head. "I often find myself wishing to hold your hand, or to hold you. My chest is tight in the best way when you're around, Vinny. I even want to kiss you. I think… no, I am sure that I love you," he finished. He opened his eyes but stared at his fidgeting hands, tears building behind his eyes.

"You love me," Vinny repeated.

"Yes, I just told you that-"

"I love you too," Vinny blurted, launching into his four arms. His eyes shot up and he gasped.

"So the line picking worked?" he asked, flustered as he held Vinny close.

"No, Garmadon, it's because of you. You managed to start as pure evil, and end up here so quickly. He pulled out of the embrace, blushing.

"I don't think I'm that good, but thank you."

"And you're insanely hot," he added quickly. Garmadon laughed and smiled bashfully.

"I love you," he said quietly, a tear falling down his cheek.

"Garmadon," he cooed. He tenderly held his cheek, wiping the tear out from under his eye. "I'm so proud of you," he whispered as Garmadon let out a quiet sob. "I love you too." He placed a kiss on his cheek. Garmadon flashed an embarrassed smile, opening his arms to invite Vinny back. His smile grew as Vinny sat in his lap, arms around him. He rested his head on Vinny's shoulder, taking in his sweet scent. He nearly purred at the warmth between them, heart racing.

"What do we do now?" he asked quietly.

"Well, we can stay like this, or we can go do something else," Vinny mumbled, nuzzling deeper into his arms. "But you're comfy so I'm staying right here." He leaned his head back to see Garmadon's face. Garmadon grinned and gently grabbed his jaw.

"I've always wanted to try kissing you-" he joked softly. Vinny smiled and ruffled Garmadon's gray hair, causing Garmadon's eyes to fall shut. He leaned forward, a hand in his hair, and kissed him softly. Garmadon held him tighter, two hands creeping up Vinny's neck.

"Vinny," he smiled. "You look beautiful in my arms," he said against his lips. This prompted a squeak from him, pulling away to bury his face in Garmadon's neck. "Did I pick up lines right?" he questioned innocently.

"Yes."
