Blairs' POV

It's a new morning. All I can think about is my mate Clauic. Before she had left, she'd given me her phone number on a napkin. It said: "Here is my number, I hope to hear from you soon, m'lady. Your mate, Clauic. "
I thought it was a pretty adorable move. Not too straightforward nor too pushy. It was very sweet. She tried to play it cool at first, but I could tell she was very nervous. Especially the way she had her hands in her dress pockets. *totally fan girling over the facts that it has pockets*
Thankfully, my parents never saw the exchange, so I don't have to explain anything to them just yet. Chey, on the other hand, she probably about to bust my door down any moment, wanting all the information.
I lay in bed with my eyes closed and daydreamed for a little while longer before getting up to take a shower. I was so tense after the party. It felt so relaxing to have the hot water cascade down my back. I sat down to just take in the warmth from the water. After my shower, I dressed in some plain black leggings and a loose fitting t-shirt. I slid into the hallway out of my bedroom, which was located across from my sister's and down the hall from our parents. We are on the 4th floor of the pack house. It's mostly where the aplha, luna, and their children are housed. I tried to sneak past Cheys room, hoping that she was still asleep. Before I knew it, she was dragging me by the arm into her room.
"Okay, I need all of the details. What did you two talk about? What is her name? And most importantly, did you get her number?" Chey said, in haste.
I chuckled as I told her to lower her voice.
"Well, her name is Clauic. We didn't get to talk too much before you had pulled me away. I know she is my mate, but you know our parents would not approve of her. They would force me to reject her. You can not tell them about this. " I can feel the tears filling my eyes, but I shake them away.
" Hey, you know you are my ride or die. Besides, if I tell them, then I might as well just pack my bags, too, because there is no way you are leaving me here to deal with that mess afterward. " We both lightly chuckle as we get ready to head downstairs for breakfast with the rest of the family.
I walk into the kitchen, and I am hit with a wonderful mix of aromas. Crispy bacon; sweet cinnamon rolls; and the fluffiest pancakes I have ever seen. Agnes has been the packs head chef since I was a child. I see my parents sitting at the head of the table as I make my way towards the kitchen.
"Good morning, Agnes," I said chearfully.
"Good morning, Blair! How are you this morning? Did you enjoy your party?"
I pick up a warm plate and silverware before I get make my selections. "It was wonderful! And the food was incredible! It's definitely the best part of the evening. "
Agnes blushes and proclaims, "Oh, you are too kind, Blair! That reminds me, I have a birthday gift for you."
I smile and say, "Oh Agnes, you did not have to get me anything! You do so much for us." I give Agnes a warm embrace before she goes to grab the gift. She comes back with a small box in her hand.
"It's not much, but this was your eighteenth birthday, and I was not going to miss out on getting you something."
I open the box, and it is a small pocket watch with a silver wolf and rose carved on the outside. I run my thumb across the engraving of the watch as my eyes tear up. "Thank you so much! I will treasure it forever." I hold the locket close to my chest and give her another tight embrace before I join my family and the rest of the pack.
I sit down next to my mom on the right as she turns and gives me a hug.
"Good morning, Blair. How did you sleep last night?" she asked, putting some food on her plate. My father looks at me, waiting for my reply,
"I slept great!" I said a little too quickly. As I begin filling my plate with the wonderful breakfast from Agnes, I take a peek at my dad, and he nods to my comment without a thought.
"Did you find your mate?" He asks abruptly
I roll my eyes, wow, of course, that is the first thing he is gonna ask me. " No, dad, I haven't found my mate. I'll keep looking, " I say before shoving a fork full of pancakes in my mouth, wanting to end this conversation quickly. He takes that as a sign to drop the matter and starts talking to his Beta about pack problems, but i tune them out. Thank the moongoddess I breathe out a breath of relief . I'm so not ready to have that conversation, especially with my father. We finish up our breakfast, and dad's the first one to leave to tend to his alpha duties. Mom leaves next and says she's going to help out in the nursery. Chey and I are left at the table.
"What would you like to do today?" asked Chey
"I don't know, honestly. Im just glad that the conversation is over. "
We quietly finished our breakfasts, then we helped Agnes put away the dishes even thought she instisted us not to, but we don't mind plus we don't have nothing important to do *speak for yourself, I want to talk to our mate* says Briel. *Damn girl, we just met her. I don't want to appear too desperate, but I will text her soon. I just gotta think of what to say*. Briel huffs *Fine* then goes blank*. Nice talk she can be quite demanding and hates when she doesn't get her way sometimes. She is also my best friend, how can she not be. She literally has been with me since I was 12 years old. She walked me through my first shift. She has always supported my decisions. The moongoddess has definently given me the best wolf a girl could ask for. My mind wonders go my mate and her wolf..
I can still faintly smell her perfume, lavender, and another smell i can't determine. Her eyes are absolutely stunning. They are hazel with a light brown sunflower in the middle. i can get lost in them any day. I got a slight glimse of her wolfs eyes. They shine as bright as an emerald gem...
