MATTIS

"This shit show you have going on here is not going to happen."

Kylan has never disrespected me and the way she conducted herself this evening convinced me she was being influenced by Ciara and her friends. Why else would she act this way?

If Kylan thought by just telling me she had met her mate would change the situation, she had another thing coming to her.

I'll check on her. Chris stated without evening waiting for a reply. I didn't have time to dwell on this issue.

"Gentlemen," I calmly say turning back to my guests. I can see they were just as shocked as I was. "My daughter seems to believe she has a choice in the matter. She is mistaken and our matter of business will still take place."

"Even if she's met her mate?" I hear the indifference in young Silverton's tone. I never did like him and knew he was not alpha material like his father.

"I assure you alpha Silverton, my daughter has not met her mate." I didn't want to continue this mate business talk either. "I will make the decision for her." I clap my hands and a few omegas come out of the kitchen with trays of food. "Please sit down."

I take my seat and notice the cold stare I am getting from alpha Silverton. I also notice how his father is glaring at him as well. A young omega sets a plate down in front of me and so do a few others in front of my guest. Once they are done, I nod my head and they immediately leave back into the kitchen. I start to dig in and so do my guests.

Kylan seems to have escaped back into the woods and I lost her scent somewhere near the waterfall. I hear Chris say via mind-link.

No matter. She will soon come back and know she has a duty to uphold.

You're going to choose for her? I can hear the shock in Chris's tone and it bothers me how worried he is about this.

Are you questioning my decisions Beta Chris when it comes to my daughter? I growl letting him this is unacceptable behavior.

No alpha. I was just merely wondering if this was the route you were going to take.

I know for a fact he was lying but I had guests I needed to attend to. Keep an eye out for her and let me know once she is back. I cut the link off and saw Silverton giving me a questioning look.

"Yes, Silverton?"

"You mentioned you will be making the decision for her. Have you decided already?"

Silverton and I go way back, and I remember he and I had a discussion about our kids being together to merge our packs as one. However, after many years of dealing with him on business matters and watching how he didn't like the way I ran things, I decided to go a different route and let my daughter choose on the matter. I did not expect Kylan to be so stupid and make a spectacle of herself and embarrass me tonight and Silverton was not going influence me on my decision either."

"Yes, I have." I grab my glass and stand up. "Alpha Brian," I start and notice Silverton's face turn from curiosity to anger. "I want to welcome you to our family and look forward to the alliance between our packs."

Alpha Brian stands and raises his glass as well. "I am truly honored you have chosen me and my pack."

"ENOUGH!" Silverton growls and gets up throwing his chair to the side with force. "We had an agreement! How dare you disregard this and make this decision without Kylan's consent!"
