Betrayed

Chapter 1: A broken spirit

" Marinette you have got to get up, if you don't you will be late for school!" Tikki whispered worriedly into her owner's ear. 

"But Tikki I don't want to go to school. Not now, not ever!" Marinette mumbled under her breath so that Tikki only faintly heard her.

"Please Marinette there are new kids joining today. Do you want them to become like Lila and her sheep? " Tikki responded to Marinette. 

"Fine. But on the weekend, you can't stop me sleeping to my heart's content." 

The girl got out of bed and got dressed, deciding to change her outfit a little. She chose black yoga pants and a midnight blue t-shirt to match her mood. Marinette walked out of her room, conscious about the time. School started at 8:00 and right now it was 7:49 so she'd better get going. Her parents had gone to make some deliveries, so she headed out without her parents loving farewell. Marinette walked up the school's elegant staircase, prepared for whatever Lila and her minions had to throw at her. For some time now, Lila had fulfilled her promise, she had taken all that Marinette held dear.

 Well not everything. She still had Chloe, her best friend. They shared a common hatred towards Lila and found that they enjoyed each other's company. They made an unlikely duo but were literally attached to the hip. Now as Marinette entered the classroom, she was not prepared for what was about to happen. When she walked through the door, she was bombarded with insults, threats and things she supposedly did to Lila.

"How dare you!"

"What did Lila ever do to you for you to punch her!?"

"You are a witch and a horrible person!"

The insults came rushing in like a river. Marinette knew she did not do a single thing anyone was accusing her of. She was at the bakery all of yesterday helping her parents manage with all of the orders. Lila must have spread some rumors. That lying snake. Marinette just tried to walk to her seat in the back of the class without falling over someone's outstretched foot. She failed. She not only tripped over Kim's foot but also Alya's. 

" That was so mean of you Marinette. " Lila stuttered through her crocodile tears " I can't believe you would punch me yesterday because you are jealous of me. " Everyone apart from Marinette and Chloe lapped up Lila's lies.

" She is ridiculous utterly ridiculous. " Chloe muttered to Marinette as the girls sat in their seats at the back. Then, everyone had the pleasure of seeing Mrs. Bustier walk in. 

 " Good morning class! " she said in a bright and cheery tone. " As some of you in here may know we have two new students joining us today. There names are Isis and Felix! So please give them a warm welcome! "

Authors note: I know that this chapter is shorter then most other stories that you have read. But this is my first ever story so any improvements I can do please tell me in the comments.
