I get drunk, pretend that I'm over it (Reyna x Fem!Reader)

It's been half a year since you and Reyna decided to break up, it didn't feel like you were gonna recover from it any sooner though. Reyna, on the other hand had been better than you would've expected, she was hanging out more often with Sage for a few months now, you couldn't help but feel a bit jealous, she always looked so happy whilst hanging out with Sage. You always tried to talk to her, though it seems like time wasn't on your side, every time. Either Brimstone would assign you for a mission right as you would ask her, or either you lost the confidence to confront her.

Today was another day of you 'trying' to confront her, you felt like sinking into the floor from how nervous you were getting, it's not like it was the first time you tried confronting her, right? You then started getting ready for the day, making sure you 'looked your best'.
(fast forward to later)
"Reyna?" You asked, fidgeting your fingers. "Oh, C/N. What is it that you need?" (C/N = code name) Reyna asked, looking straight at you. "I was just.. wondering. Could we talk?" You said, still nervous. "And what is it that you want to talk about?" The empress said "Us. Our.. relationship. Are you getting me? I've just been having trouble with.. moving on." Upon hearing this, the face of the duelist softened a bit. The thing is, she still loved you. Never did she stop loving you, when the duelist started hanging out with Sage, it was always about you. Asking for advice on ways to get you back. And plus, Sage and Jett did have a private thing going on, well, according to Sage. "I don't know, Y/N. I just— Can you give me time?" Said the duelist "Well, of course. But please, make sure to text me, call me, or even just confront me in person." You said, offering a smile. "I will, cariño." Reyna said, patting your shoulder then left afterwards.

It had been a month already, and yet Reyna never made the choice to message you, call you nor meet with you in person. It was a lost cause at this point. Earlier in the current month, you've asked Sage to remove you off field duty as this current situation of you and Reyna's relationship was taking a huge toll on your emotions and usually when you were sent out to a mission, you either couldn't think straight and always got yourself in danger or you just zoned out in the middle of the fight and always needed someone to finish it off for you. Thankfully, Sage understood your situation and so did Brimstone. It felt like you were new to the protocol and you were still in training, you didn't like it one bit.

You always blamed Reyna for everything about it, you yourself could notice the difference from all your work back then and your work nowadays. You could notice how sloppy your aim was getting and how poor your reaction time was. You asked for either Yoru or Chamber to help you with your aim and reaction time, the three have always been close after all. You guys were always like a small family.  

Right now, you were training with Yoru so he could help with your reaction time. "No, you idiot! Over here!" Yoru complained, you were slow to turn and you found yourself having a gun pointed to your head. "You were doing so well earlier, Y/N. Stop thinking about Reyna for once. I know for a fact she's the reason you can't concentrate properly."

"But— You don't know how I feel! You don't even love anyone romantically!" You blurted out, evidently annoyed. "And what if I did?" He confessed, he then covered his mouth, possibly in disbelief of what he had just said. You raised your brow, "Who is it?" You singsonged, giggling right afterwards. "No one!" He said, though you knew he was lying. "Just tell me, your secret is safe with me." You replied with a smirk "It's.. Skye." He mumbled. "Really! Flower girl??" You exclaimed with joy. "Shut up! Don't be so loud. You know what, this lesson is over. I'll call in Chamber tomorrow." He huffed, teleporting out soon after.

You slightly laughed, you never knew Yoru would be the type of person to love someone like Skye, a sweet, soft, and caring woman. You decided to stay in the training room for a few more minutes whilst doing whatever the hell you'd do on your phone. Suddenly, you heard the door open revealing.. The one and only empress, Reyna. "Reyna." You said, forcing a smile. You felt like sinking into the ground, just wanting to disappear right there. "C/N.." Reyna began, "Look, I'm sorry I haven't tried to talked to y—" 

"Save it." You said, cutting Reyna off and finally letting your face relax into an annoyed expression. "Y/N, cariño. Please, just let me explain why I haven't been able to call or meet you." She begged, your stomach churned at the mention of the nickname, though you decided to push away the feeling instead. "It's been a month, Reyna. You expect me to just let this slide so freely?" You scolded whilst glaring at her. "Please just let me explain, I know deep down you want to know why as well." She said. "Fine, just.. make it short and brief." You hissed "Thank you.. I just haven't thought of anyways on how to tell you anything, I just.. I've been having a hard time, if you haven't heard yet, I've also been removed from field duty, thought 2 months ago. In those two months, I had started a habit.. A bad habit of drinking, every night I would drink at least 3 bottles of alcohol, and wake up with the shittiest hangovers. I would always wake up and expect to be in your embrace. I never left my room, not until Sage had taken notice of my weird behaviour. She would comfort me every time, leading me to be able to stop this habit. I always asked her for help, because of you. You would drive me insane every day, just me thinking of you. I had hoped of telling you a month ago that I still loved you, I really wanted to yet I couldn't find the confidence within me. I hope you understand, but, moving on. I just can't express how much I love you so much, Y/N. You always helped me out during hard times and.. I just don't know what the hell I'd do without you. Please.. I'm begging you, take me back.." She pleaded.

You were shocked, there was no doubting that. You really didn't know what to say. "I understand if you've already gotten over me, I—" She began, quickly getting cut off by you. "I love you too. I.. really do." You said, smiling.
