CHAPTER 6

Pov: Nicholas

Everyone should be back at school today, so I won't be in Justin's home room class today, but I should be able to find him around the school somewhere. I walked into the school, and lora came up next to me and said, "So apparently you spoke to the new kid." She had a curious smile. "Well, yes, I did, but it's not a big deal,"

"Yes, it is. No one else has been able to speak to him, and no one has gotten him to talk back. I need to know how you did it", she walked in front of me and was now walking backwards. "Well, if I remember correctly. I did greet him, but that was not how I got him to respond. "

"What do you mean?" lora tilted her head to the side. "Um, I sat next to him in home class yesterday and sort of stared at him."

Lora's curious simle was replaced with an excited one, "let me guess, he caught, oh my god. What did he do? "

"He said not to worry about it and that people do it all the time." Lora seemed surprised, "You're joking, the so called grumpy new kid was okay with you staring."

"Yes, lora, he was. We even hanged out", there was no expression on her face this time, which is usually a bad thing. "YOU LIKE HIM!" lora shouted, causing everyone in the hall to trun and look at us.

"Will you shut up and no I don't like him, I just think his hot", her smile came back and before she could say anything we heard next to us "oh really, thats good to know". Justin's sudden appearance startled me so much that I gasped and dropped the books in my hand. My face instantly went pink.
Lora reached out her hand and said, "Hi, I don't know if you remember, but my name is -"

"Lora, yeah, I remember." Justin took her hand and shook it as I bent down to pick my stuff up. As I stood up, Justin asked, "So figure it out yet."

"Figure out what," lora asked, confused. "Where he is from. He doesn't sound European and his not from America, so I have decided to try and figure out where he is from. " The school bell went off, catching all of our attention.

"See you later, tiny and nice meeting you lora", Justin said as he walked away. "Did he just call me tiny?" I asked, the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. He heard me call him hot, and what was with that pet name, even more important, why did I like it.

Lora was looking at him walk away, "You know what, I can see why you were staring at him. He is hot."

School was what you expected, because more than half the school wasn't here yesterday we did no work and now the teachers want us to catch up on all the work today, so I am leaving school the same way as everyone one else, with hours of homework to do. I also didn't see Justin at all today, which was unfortunate, I was looking forward to seeing him. As I was walking down the hallway, I noticed a flyier for archery tryouts after school. I have always wanted to give archery a try, but the alpha always said we didn't need weapons as long as we have our claws and teeth, but that doesn't mean I can't try at school. I looked at the location and time. It starts in ten minutes at the back of school. This building was abandoned until a week ago when the school started to fix it up and give it a good clean, I guess I know why now. I walked through the doors and saw there were about 21 people here, including Justin.

A lady who I am going to assume is the coach clapping her hands together, making those of us who have supernatural hearing (in other words the wolves) wince. "Okay, everyone, I know you all think I am the coach because I am wearing the shirt that says coach, but I am not. I know absolutely nothing about archery, so Justin over here is going to be your coach. I am just here for supervision." She patted Justin on the back before continuing, "Since some of you wanted to take archery, the school has reopened archery program, however no one in this town knows archery. Thankfully, according to Justin's former school, he is quite good at it, so after some negotiating, he has agreed to coach the schools archery team. "

Pov: Justin

Marshal went and sat down by the bleachers and left me with people I don't know, except for Nick, who from now on, I think I will call tiny. "we only have a limited number of bows, about sevan, I think. Unfortunately, for  you all means you have to share, I also figured the best way we can start. Is to see what you are all capable of, so please ling up, pick a bow, and shoot. "

These people don't know how to shoot, they can't aim to save their lives. "Okay, clearly none of you know what you are doing, so we are going to start with the basics."

I spent an hour just explaining how to probably hold a bow, to shoot, how you are supposed to stand, and answering their fricking stupid questions. At the end of it, everyone only got to shoot once, and that was more than enough to tell that we have a lot of work to do. This class at least had more humans than shifters in it. I said my goodbyes, and as I was about to leave, Nick came up to me and asked, "Where are you going?"

I looked down at him and he had such a happy smile, "I don't know might go home and do my mountain of homework". I hate homework, so there is a good chance that I won't do any of it and just take the detention. "What are you going to do?" I asked.

"Um, homework as well, I guess. That's all I ever do actually". What, who in their right mind would only do homework.

"You know, I saw this coffee shop earlier this morning. I want to go give it a try, so if you would like, you can come with me and we can do some homework together", he looked at me surprised.

"Sure, I'd love that", it looked like he instantly regretted saying that last part and immediately started to curse himself under his breath. I, of course, heard all of it, and, for some reason, I was happy to hear it. Spending some more time together might be a good way to figure out if we are mates.

We walked in silence all the way to the coffee shop called Golden Moon. It wasn't that big. It sort of looked like one of those small town coffee shops. The inside was empty, except for three other people and well us. We chose a seat by the window and ordered some drinks. I got a hot chocolate, and Nick got a blueberry milkshake. "So, Justin, what homework do you have?"

"There's my history assignment, and now I have an art one as well. There are English tests tomorrow and math one next week. There is also just a bunch of work for business. In other words, I have work for every subject. What about you"

"Work for everything as well, and then I still have to figure out where you are from."

Our drinks came and the waiter said "carefull with the hot chocolate, it still very hot". I gave him a nod, and he left. Nick pushed his milkshake to the side and pulled out a book that said physics on it. I guess now I have to do my homework, I did not think about that.

I took out my history and decided to carry on with that, but first, a sip of my drink. When I put it down, Nick was looking at me worried. "What?"

"Isn't it hot?" he pointed to my hot chocolate.

Oh, "I have a high tolerance for heat." I would really like to change the subject.

I looked down at my notepad and curried on with my history project. We sat there in silence doing our work for about an hour when I started to get hungry. I stood up and ordered some fries and burgers before I sat down. About twenty minutes later, the food was brought, and I pushed the torture the school calls work to the side. Nick looked at the food then at me and said, "I can't afford this, I will just have something when I get home."

Oh, right, I remember him mentioning his family doesn't have much money. "Don't worry about it, it's on me."

He looked at me and said in a soft voice, "You don't have to do that."

"Relax, I am more than happy to pay for it." I took a bite of my burger, and it melted on the moment it went in my mouth. This is possibly the best burger I have ever had. Nick finally started to eat the food, and I think from the look on his face that he thought the same thing about this burger as I did.
