CHAPTER 10

Pov: Nicholas

Monday, here goes nothing. I walked through the doors and went directly to my locker. Lora won't be at school today as she is preparing for the beast games, so I have to make things quick before I run into Mark. His request wasn't too bad. It wasn't good either, although he didn't have to ask me like that and in such a menacing way.

I got my stuff out of my locker and made my way to English. I walked in the class and up to ma'am, "Mrs Moon, I would like to be in a group with... um, Mar-k. "

She made a weird face, probably confused as to why I want to be in a group with Mark for this assignment. I went and sat down in my seat. Everyone entered the class, and once everyone was seated, Mrs Moon called the groups. When she called that I and Mark are together, everyone looked at us and started to whisper. Oh god, this is not gonna go well. The rest of the day was something, Lora is not here, and Justin is not at school either. So this afternoon with Mark is gonna be something. I walked through the doors, and there he was, Infamous Mark.

"Well, you made it little fox," Mark through his cigarette on the floor, and put it out with his foot. "So I hope you know the point of this is so you can do all the work while I watch and so you can do some investigative work for me"

I nodded my head and said, "Yes, I know."

I climbed into his car, which I was not comfortable with, and he said, "I like game week, manly because you have no guard dog to protect you." He started his car, and we were off.

All afternoon, I worked on our project while Mark played games on his Xbox. At least he gave me his laptop to do some research. We have to do a speech on a famous city outside of the USA, and I am having a hard time finding one that no one else will do as well. Mark also wants me to give him some info on Justin, I don't know why, but I stopped thinking about the possibilities when my phone buzzed. I picked it up to answer. I have one of those old Nokia phones. I picked up and said, "Hi, this is Nicholas,"

"Tiny, it's me, Justin. I would have texted, but I remember you saying something about having a Nokia."

"Hi Justin." I don't know why, but I am really starting to like that nickname

"I called to know if you would like to go to the movies with me," My heart started to run in my chest. I could literally feel my cheeks go pink. Justin, the hot new kid, wants to go to the movies with me.

"Yeah, I would love to." I had to hold back the giggle coming up. "When would you like to go?"

"Tonight, if possible, I heard there are some great selections." Why am I so excited to see him, but who cares. Justin is inviting me to the movies. It could almost be a date. Why does that thought excite me even more.

"I would be happy to, just hold on a moment." I covered the phone with my hand and looked to Mark, who was now looking at me. "Let me guess, the new kid, you can go if you want. As long as I pass, I don't care. Oh, and if you are indeed going with Justin, just don't forget what I asked of you."

I nodded my head and went back to the phone, "Where and at what time must I be there".

I was standing outside the movie theatre he told me about, waiting anxiously, I walked all the way here as Mark made absolutely clear he didn't care what I did. "Hi," Justin appeared out of nowhere so quickly that it startled me, and I ended up getting a fright. I turned around and hit him playfully on the arm. Justin just laughed at my reaction. "So what movie did you pick?"
