CHAPTER 7

Pov: Nicholas

That burger was amazing, I have known about that coffee shop forever, but I have never actually been there, and Justin was so nice and friendly. He doesn't seem like that at first glance as he always looks like he is pissed off at someone or has no expression at all. He also gave his number so we could talk more, and now I have four numbers on my phone. That's sad, I only had three numbers on my phone before I got Justin's.

I walked through the front door, and both my mom and the alpha were sitting on the couch. My mom motioned to the seat next to her, and I took it. The alpha was here. Why would he be here.

"Nick, there is a knew kid at school named Justin. Apparently, you have been spending some time with him. I want to you if there is anything you can tell me about him", why does he want to know about Justin.

I wiped my hands off on my pants and said, "Well, I don't know much about him." The alpha smiled and said, "I don't need much, just how he acts what he is like."

"His an archer, apparently. His grumpy at first look, but he is really kind. His tall and has a lot of muscles, he likes history and I believe that's all I know. " That is not a lot of things.

The alpha didn't look all that happy with how little I gave him, "You don't know anything else, like if he is human or not."

I thought about it for a moment, "to be honest, I don't know. I haven't really paid much attention to his scent or anything else really". Why did I lie already know his not human. I just never thought about what he could be.

"Can you try and get some info out of him. Like where he is from, why he is here, and of course, if he is human, "the alpha asked.

"I have been looking into that. He refused to tell me where he was from and challenged me to figure it out. The most I know is that he is not from the US or from Europe but I will let you know if I learn more", Now that I think about it, I know very little about Justin.

The alpha stood and said, "If you can, I would really appreciate it." He said goodbye and left. My mom then led him out and came back to sit next to me. "Baby, I am gonna be working late the next few days, which means I will be gone before you wake up and back long after you go to bed. Should I arrange for you to go to lora, or will you be okay on your own? "

"I will be fine on my own mom, you don't have to worry", my mom gave me a hug and said, "I'm your mom. It's all I ever do."

We had dinner together for the first time in a couple of months. It was nice to talk to her even if it was only for a couple of minutes before she had to get back to work. I cleaned up, put leftovers away, and did my homework. I was at home, and no human would be able to see me, so I decided to shift. My bones broke and moulded as my body shrank. Orange fur grew all over my body, and in a matter of seconds, I was on all four paws. I ruffled my Orange fur and stretched my paws as far as they would go. I ran up the stairs and into my room. I jumped on my bed and curled up into a ball, and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning and shifted back, took a shower, and got dressed. It was finally Friday, I don't know what I am going to do this weekend, but at least there will be time to relax. I walked all the way to school when I spotted Justin walking out of the local grocery store. He put some stuff in the boot of a tesla, is that his car. I started to walk up to him, and he turned around to face me. Does he have eyes on the back of his head or something.

"Hi Justin, how did you know I was coming?" He just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "Also, is this your car?"

"Yup." That's all, I was sort of expecting more than just a quick, simple answer. Well, he doesn't normally say much, but I at least expect more.

"Is everything okay with you, I know you don't normally say much, but you do normally have more to say." He looked at me with this blank expression before once again shrugging his shoulders. Okay, I know he is always quiet, but this is weird. "I don't want to be rude, Justin, but you're so quiet that it's starting to get weird."

He rubbed the back of his neck, looked down, and said, "Sorry, just a lot to think about, and my aunt is coming over soon. She is... well, I love her and all, but sometimes she can be a bit much. " He went back to packing his groceries in his car and finished really quickly. He pushed a button on the boot, and it started to close on its own. We'll that's fancy.

He looked at me and then looked around before asking, "Did you walk here?"

I nodded and said "yeah, my family doesn't really have a car", everyone knows I walk but Justin is new so I am not surprised he doesn't know my families situation and thankfully so. People tend to form theories as to way and they always make me look bad. I don't want him to do that. "So you are walking to school,"

I looked at him, and his face had gone soft. It was kinda cute, "If you want, I will give you a ride to the school."

"You don't have to do that, I wouldn't want to bother you." Justin smiled at me and said, "Nonsense, you can't bother me." He turned around and said, "Get in."

I climbed in the passenger side door and buckled the seat. This car was really fancy and sleek. There was even a big screen in the car. Justin pressed a button, and we were off. We road in silence all of the way, the radio was on, and it was playing some new song I had never heard of. The ride was peaceful and calm, I really enjoyed that. It was also nice not having to walk all the way to school. "Justin, are you going to be at school today?"

"I am afraid not, I have some preparation to do for tonight and there is some cleaning I have to do from last night", he looked away when he said the last part which was odd to say the least. I thanked him for the ride and got out. I waved back as I walked up the stairs, and Justin was gone. I turned around, and there was Lora staring at me with a wide smile. She spoke before I could say anything, "soooo, who's car did you just climb out of?"

"It was Justin's car," her smile got even wider at my words. "It's nothing Lora, he just gave me a ride, that's all."

"Sure," her sarcastic tone caught Marks attention. He walked up to us, and Lora stepped in front of me, blocking Marks' view of me. "What do you want Mark", lora's tone was harsh but fierce. Being a fox means almost everyone is bigger and stronger than me. So lora ends up being my body guard whenever she is around. She is the betas daughter, so she is stronger than your average wolf, not as strong as the alpha or his children, of course. That's also why I don't really get bullied as they don't want to deal with lora when she finds out. Unfortunately, that also means everyone acts like I don't exist, no one really likes me, and with lora around, no one even throws a punch or insult my way.

"Relax puppy, I just want to talk to him," Mark was on his own. Usually, he had his goons with him.

"Well, too bad, we something to do." lora put her hands on her hips and straightened her back. Normal actions for a wolf trying to show dominance, making yourself look tougher and bigger.

"What do you want to ask Mark?" I stepped out from behind lora so I could face Mark.

"What do you know about Justin, I heard you were doing some research on him," he was calm and not acting aggressive in any way.

"All I have been doing is trying to figure out where his accent is from, basically I know nothing", now that I think about it, I don't know his last name. Mark didn't say anything back. He just nodded his head and walked away.

Lora relaxed her body and said "well that was weird." She's right, first the alpha and now Mark.
