This story was inspired from a couple documentaries that I watched about children that don't age. While the most famous example is Brooke Greenberg, a few other cases have been reported.
From these documentaries, I decided to play around with the idea by creating a character that was born on February 29th. Now unlike Brooke Greenberg, my character Zachary does age, but one year for every four (to humor the joke about people born on Leap Day). (Another similar case has been found that matches Zachary's in real life and her name is Gabby Williams.)
This story is about the mother and father, and their struggles in raising a child born with a unique gift – The gift of time. It was written as a result of a 10 minute writing exercise that I used to cure writer's block. While the exercise was only 10 minutes, I had much more to say beyond that.
For this story, I can easily see this becoming a trilogy, considering that there is so much to write about Zachary. I initially wrote the first part in 2013 and plan on publishing one chapter per day, with some exceptions if anything personal comes up.
Just to inform you, there will be a lot of diaper changes in the story, as Zachary's childhood is four times longer than any of ours. Objects of attachment, namely pacifiers will become an issue later with another character in the story (I won't say who. You'll just have to read to find out! 😀)
To be very clear, everything involving Zachary is non-sexual. I don't like smut chapters either so you won't see anything like that. Obscenities and curse words is something else that you won't see. If a character ever swears in this I will just say that they did and not include the word.
Finally, this story takes place in a modern setting (2004 to be exact).
If you like the parts, comment and give it a vote!
Enjoy this story!
I love you all! ❤️
