Anna quickly followed behind Freja as the two continued walking down a path. "I wouldn't have let Hans take control of your kingdom." Freja mumbled, glancing over at the young Princess.
She sighed, shaking her head. "I trust him. I don't see why you and Elias don't."
Freja shrugged her shoulders at that statement. "He asked you to marry him after you two just met." She stated. "Plus, he gives me the creeps."
Anna chuckled as she glanced around at their surroundings. "You two just need to get to know him."
'This girl is unbelievable.' Freja thought as they walked. A frown made its way on her face. Yes, she just met them but she wanted to help. Especially the King.
Anna glanced back over at the young girl, curiosity overtaking her. She shivered, the cold finally getting to her. "W-W-Why do you want to help anyway?" She asked, stuttering from the cold.
Freja chuckled with a small sigh. "Because-" she hesitated. "I understand what your brother is going through." She admitted.
The princess gave a confused expression. "What do you mean?" She asked, pulling her coat closer to her chest. The further they walked, the colder it got. "Do you have powers as well?"
Hesitation was written all over Frejas face. Elias wasn't the only one scared to admit to their powers. The only person who knew was her brother. "Yes." She said softly. "The only difference with me- I don't let my emotions control my powers. It seems as if your brother has never learned to control both his emotions and his powers."
Anna's eyes went wide as she glanced over at the girl. "I didn't realize there were people with powers. Magic, whatever it is." She sighed softly. "I just hope Elias is okay. I'm worried." A frown made its way onto her face. "I feel like this is my fault."
"Not to be mean, but it kinda is." Freja admitted. "If you didn't push him, he wouldn't have lashed out like that. You should've accepted that he said no to the marriage." She was being honest with the Princess. What she did wasn't okay. "He's just trying to protect you."
Sighing, Anna hugged her chest. She knew Freja was right but she didn't want to admit it, of course.
The pair spent a couple hours walking, only for nightfall to finally creep in. "We need to find shelter." Freja said as she glanced around. "There should be a small shop around here."
Anna was shivering badly, trying to keep herself warm. She rubbed her hands together as she panted heavily from the walk. "Snow. It had to be snow. Why couldn't he have tropical magic." She grumbled.
Freja couldn't help but chuckle at her. "He can't control what powers he gets." She said, chewing on her lower lip. She sighed softly as she gently grabbed Anna's arm to stop her. "Here." She said as she picked up a decent sized thick stick.
"What are you doing?" Anna asked curiously as she watched the girl. Her eyes widened when Freja's finger sparked with fire, lighting the tip of the stick. "Wait. You have fire magic?"
Freja nodded, handing the stick to her. "Yeah. This should keep you warm until we find the shop."
Anna had so many questions, but she knew Freja might not be comfortable. She knew her brother wasn't. "Fire and Ice magic. I wonder how the two of you can get along." She teased, chuckling softly.
Freja couldn't help but laugh at that. "Just because our powers are complete opposites doesn't mean we have to be. And besides, your brother and I just met. So maybe later on we won't get along." She said as they continued walking.
"I hope you two do become friends." Anna admitted with a soft smile playing on her lips.
Freja smiled back at her before she noticed smoke out in the distance. "Look, we're here." She said, motioning for her to follow. The pair rushed to the small building in the middle of nowhere, covered in snow. It was a wooden shack with a sign that read 'Wandering Oaken's Trading Post'.
As they began opening the door, snow fell off a small sign. "Oooh and sauna." Anna giggled as they quickly walked into the shack.
"Hoo! Hoo!" A voice called out as they entered, startling the two girls. They quickly turned and saw a bright-faced man sitting low behind a counter, fingers tapping tip to rip. "Big summer blow out." The man cheerfully stated.
The two girls walked up to the counter as the man started showing them items. "Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, yah?"
"How about boots for now?" Freja smiled at the man.
"Winter boots... and dresses?" Anna added, looking at the man with hopeful eyes. It was too cold to be wearing summer items.
The man looked a little disappointed at the request, but he pointed at a corner. "That'll be in our winter department." The two girls glanced over where he pointed. There hung two winter dresses, a pick axe, and two pair of boots.
"Thank you!" Freja chuckled as she grabbed the items before returning back to the counter.
"Oh uh-" Anna began. "By any chance, has a young man came by here? The king perhaps?" She asked hopefully.
The man shook his head. "The only one crazy enough to be out here is the two of you." He stated as the door to the shop suddenly blew open. A man covered in head to toe with snow walked in. "You and this fellow..." the jolly man added. "Hoo hoo! Big summer blow out."
Freja glanced over at the man and noticed who it was. "About time you decide to show up." She teased as she went over to him. Anna gave a confused look as she watched the two. "Leaving me all alone in the kingdom."
The man, her brother, chuckled as he removed the hood from his coat. "You took too long." He teased as he started grabbing the items he needed. "But I knew I'd find you."
Freja rolled her eyes before she motioned to the man. "Anna, this is my older brother Kristoff." She said. "And Kristoff, this is Princess Anna." She introduced the two.
Kristoff glanced at the girl with a soft smile. "Nice to meet ya." He took his items to the counter, ready to pay.
Once the three of them gathered their items, they headed out back into the snow. "There's a free barn for us to stay in for the night." Kristoff said as he threw his bag into the wagon.
"We'll continue searching in the morning." Freja turned to Anna. "It's too dark to keep searching." She motioned for the Princess to follow them towards the barn.
"I'm sure Elias will be fine for the night." Anna frowned, sighing softly. She worried for her brother, a lot.
