13. The News

"Oye...Where are you lost...!?" Manik asked seeing Nandini stand with the coffee cup.

She quickly nodded in no and handed him his coffee and gulped before asking "Aap busy ho??"

"Haan...But just 15 minutes...I'll come...Kuch kaam hai...!?" He asked sipping on his coffee.

"Um...Nahi...You finish and come...We can talk later..." She said and left the room making him frown in confusion.

"It's better I tell him...and also to convince him not to react in anger..." She has decided while going back to their room.

Once he came back to his room, he settled beside her and asked "Huh...Ab bolo...What do you want to talk...!?"

"Manik...Promise me aap gussa nahi karoge...and you will listen to me patiently..." She asked and he thought for a second and nodded and signalled her to say it.

At night,

"Bhabhi....I'm so hungry..." Mayank came after freshening up and rubbed his palms seeing the food on the dining table and wished his bhai before joining him for dinner.

Nandini served them and sat on her chair. They ate in silence till Mayank asked "Bhai...You were supposed to go for dinner na...!? What happened??"

Manik sighed and said "Will go on sunday...Tum batao... Where did you go...!?"

"Um...friend se milne..." He replied not looking at his brother.

"Girl friend...!?" Manik asked making Mayank choke at once. He quickly tapped Mayank's head and passed the glass of water while Nandini stood nervously.

"I'll talk to him..." That's the only sentence Manik has said when she revealed that she has seen Mayank with a girl on his bike while they were coming back from temple.

"Bhai...Wo..." Mayank uttered bringing Nandini back to the current situation and only god knows how Manik is going to react.

"I'm hearing Mayank... Girlfriend thi...!?" He asked and Mayank gulped before nodding in yes.

Manik sighed as he didn't lie and asked "Do you want to let us know anything about her..!?"

Mayank licked his lips and looked at Nandini who assured him to go on and he said "Wo...bhai...she...she was my college mate...We got to know about each other from...last 2 years...um...I...I thought of saying when we...want to take our next step..."

"And when is that...!? Tab tak you will roam around with her...!? Glad that we have seen you guys...what if I have to get to know it from anyone else...!?" Manik asked and Nandini looked at him surprised and he signed her with his eyes.

"Sorry bhai...wo...actually..." Mayank murmured but stopped when Manik said "We want to meet her...Invite her home on Sunday..."

Mayank looked at him in shock but nodded saying "Ji bhai"

Once they went to their room, Nandini asked "Manik...Why did you tell him that you saw them...!? It was me who told you na..."

"Nandu...I don't want to create any misunderstanding between you...There are chances that he might think that you complained me about him when in real, it was me who asked you not to hide anything...Your bhabhi devar bond is so pure that I don't want to take risk with any type of misunderstanding..."  Manik said and she hugged him tight as they made their way to the bed.

Sunday,

"Bhai...Bhabhi...She is Meera..." Mayank introduced the girl when he entered the living room. Manik and Nandini looked at each other and smiled at her.
