Janet and Rami
For the longest time, Janet had gaslighted herself that she doesn't deserve to be loved by anyone. That unlike her friends, she just wasn't worthy of being in someone else's life. She wasn't worth it, nor was she anyone's "right person"
But as she was sitting in her apartment completely engrossed in watching Youtube shorts, she paused and slowly looked up.
She saw the guy sitting on the floor across from her, back hunched and brows furrowed as he typed continuously on his laptop.
Rami felt his wife of three years staring at him and he thought she needed something so he looked up at her.
"What wrong, babe? Do you need anything?"
She blinked at him. As if she couldn't believe that he was there. Rami knew instantly what was happening. He couldn't help but smile. Her wife always had "lutang" moments, and this was just one of them.
"You married me," she said, slowly. As if it had just sunk in her system that she was married.
"I did," he said, smiling. "Three years ago."
"We've been married for three years?" Janet asked and Rami laughed.
"Yeah."
"Oh... Thank you," Janet said. Rami laughed out loud.
It was that laugh that brought Janet back to reality. That someone loves her. That someone stayed with her. That she was, after all, worthy of being loved.
