The hardest part of saying goodbye
Is the way he walks away
His shoulders back, head held high
Not a single step astray
The hardest part of saying goodbye
Is the way he holds me close
And makes me realize though I'm lonely
I'm never really alone
The hardest part of saying goodbye
Is knowing that it's done
The day was long, the sun is gone
And with it went the fun
As I kiss you a final goodbye
There's something true I must say
The hardest part of saying goodbye
Is wishing that you'd stay.
