Stargazer

Nebula.

Nebula: Latin for "cloud." Bright nebulas are great clouds of glowing gas, lit up by stars inside or nearby. Dark nebulas are not lit up and are visible only because they block the light of stars behind them.

"Lower your chin down a tad, but still look up at the camera. Yes! That's perfect!"

The sound of the camera shutter made my lips turn upwards into a smile, but what made me smile more was the sight of Jungkook's bunny teeth as he grinned from behind the camera. 

"You look great! Just a few more shots!"

The flash made it tempting to squint my eyes, forcing me to hold them open until the pictures were taken.

As Jungkook examined the last few shots, his eyes sparkled. "This shot might be more beautiful than the first one I ever took of you. You're just... captivating."

I stood up, walking towards him to peck his cheek. "I could say you are quite captivating as well." I reached down to pick up my satchel, standing up with a frown. My fingers moved a loose strand of hair out of his face. "Sadly, I have to head off to work now to check the progress of these edits."

Jungkook pouted as he nodded, gathering his camera bag and backpack. "Text me when you can?"

"Of course," I whispered, pressing our lips together quickly before waving goodbye and jogging off towards my car.

After sitting in my car, I turned the keys in the ignition and placed a hand over my heart. It beat loudly in my chest, making me blush at the effect the photographer had on me.

With a heavy sigh and a final glance at the clock, I pulled out onto the street, heading towards my office.

"Mr. Kim, I wanted to let you know that Lifeline has been fully corrected, I verified it myself this morning." Daniel said with a bow as he entered my office.

"Ahh, thank you Mr. Kang."

"Um, and I have a question for you, if I may?"

I nodded, motioning for Daniel to sit down in the chair across from my desk.

"I heard you have been working on a story of your own?" He began, making me nod once more.

"I am. How did you hear about that?"

Daniel sighed, unable to meet my eyes. "When he was still here, Mr. Seo, uh, asked me to look into it. I am the one that took the manuscript and gave it to him to edit."

"Why would you do that?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Daniel chewed on his bottom lip. "He was my boss! I was scared that if I didn't follow his directions, I would be fired. M-My girlfriend is pregnant, and I can't afford to be without a job. I am so sorry. He... He was infuriated about the manuscript because he admitted it was actually really good. He tried to have me find ways to prevent you continuing with it, but then he got fired."

"Mr. Seo liked my story? He admitted that out loud?"

He nodded. "And, for what it's worth, I read some of it too. You're an amazing author, Taehyung. I would gladly edit the story off the clock for you, as an apology." He bowed his head in a somber fashion. "It's the least I could do."

I smiled. "Thank you, Daniel. I might just take you up on that." I pondered for a second before clearing my throat. "My, uh, well, do him and I have a title? Anyways, I know someone who is helping me with the cover of the story, so I'm excited for that."

Daniel's eyes sparkled. "That's amazing! I'm thrilled to get to work with you on this project. Just don't forget me when you get to being a famous author."

I chuckled, waving his comment aside. "Probably not gonna happen," I laughed some more. "I should get back to work, but thank you, Daniel, for your candor and effort. It is much appreciated."

He extended a hand for me to shake prior to leaving the room.

As my eyes wandered around my desk, mildly in shock of what just occurred, my eyes landed on the framed photo of Jungkook and I. My lips instantly turned upwards into a smile before I reached into my pocket and grabbed my phone. I typed up a simple text to him before placing it aside on my desk and glancing at my laptop screen once more.
