"sannie!" wooyoung can't help himself when he beams, giggles, fucking humiliatingly squeals at the portrait opening up on his phone screen. he misses san — seeing the flawless sculpt of his cheekbones and the sleepy tussle of his hair and the sweet smile brightening his lips releases more serotonin than wooyoung's hormones have all week on this mundane wednesday evening.
"morning, my angel." sending wooyoung's heart rate tumbling, san's voice is rough with sleep. "did you just get home?"
"yeah! cobie 'n i went grocery shopping, so we're a bit late than usual." brows nearly meeting, wooyoung focuses as he props his phone atop his kitchen counter, and starts unpacking the first of their bags. "i swear, the entire day my head was just going 'san, san, san, san, sannie!' i missed you that much. honestly, i thought i was worshipping you," wooyoung perhaps exaggerates, expectingly. it's what he's best at, after all.
and he can't really complain when it makes san laugh, the sound like honey. his eyes disappear temporarily, as he sinks languidly into his pillows. god does wooyoung wish he was there with him.
"maybe i have you to thank, then, wooyo. it's a fucking miracle i woke up today."
wooyoung freezes. he doesn't have a say in the small frown etching into his mouth. "a miracle? why a miracle, bubs?"
"uni," is san's simple answer, laced with the complaint of a groan and the advent of creases in his forehead. although wooyoung feels relief loosen his next breath, his gaze on san doesn't render — despite the piles of groceries he assured jacob he'd organise.
"cute how we're on the same boat," wooyoung remarks, alongside an insightful sigh. then, "did something happen? or do you mean just, like, generally?"
"just generally," san murmurs, his eyelids falling shut. something about the sight has wooyoung's joints relaxing, too, and he really, really would like to plant a kiss or two over san's lashes. then perhaps some more.
"miss you," wooyoung slips out quietly. he catches san's eyes awaken, but avoids the attention, proceeding with getting all the fruits in one pile. how many pineapples can one man buy?
"i miss you, too, sweetheart." a small pause. "so much." just one look at the longing in san's gaze and the intimate look across his face hurts wooyoung's heart. san exhales a soft huff — glum. "plus — sleeping alone sucks, y'know."
wooyoung can't help an endeared smile. it struggles to fully reach his eyes. "yeah," he mutters, half-hearted. "i know."
although wooyoung finishes his chores upon nothing but the skirts of silence, san's presence is loud enough to sufficiently satisfy him. at some point, he slips out of his ruffled sheets and meanders toward the bathroom. from time to time, wooyoung halts what he's doing to simply look at san; he doesn't think a day will ever come when he's not ineffably stunned by the boy's beauty. not even a blink reaches wooyoung's eyelids as he watches san engage in the monotonous task of brushing his brows.
he's the most perfect thing wooyoung has ever seen, the most perfect thing wooyoung will ever see. and he's his. all his.
"baby. are you doing anything today?"
the question snaps wooyoung out of his daze. he realises he's staring, and for the sake of his dignity, he would much rather stay oblivious to how long for. "uh—" feeling his cheeks burn a shade of pink, wooyoung averts his gaze. "no." he shakes his head. "not really, i mean— i... i bought some hair dye. my lilac's turning weird n' i've been wanting to go back to my black for a while so. i dunno, though, i—"
"can we do it together?" san interrupts, albeit a soft request.
"huh?"
"our hairs." san looks at wooyoung like it's the most casual idea he's ever had when, really, wooyoung thinks it's enough to drive him insane. "i have some colours here — blue and purple, i think? better put them to use, no?"
