Hey guys! :)
This is the second part of 'Who are you?', so if you haven't read the first part you better do, otherwise you won't get the whole picture.
Enjoy! <3––––––––––––––––––––––––
I sighed and looked at the brown-haired woman in front of me in her simple white wedding dress. She played with the sheer layer of glitter hanging over the silk fabric of the dress skirt. The dress showcased her beautiful back adorned with sparkling spaghetti straps. With a deep V-neckline, this dress was just gorgeous. Her hair was tied in a bun and a few strands hung in curls over her face, decorated with daisies. Her make-up was subtle, with brown eye shadow and mascara on her eyelashes she still showed her natural beauty. She turned in front of the mirror and looked at herself critically, too critically.
I've had enough, "Hannah! You look beautiful. Like a fairytale princess. And Thomas would even marry you in your pajamas."
She giggled nervously, "That's why I love him. I don't want to disappoint him, I've made so many mistakes in the past. I-"
I interrupted her a bit briskly, "Enough now! You won't get nervous about your past. I'm here and Jessy and Lilly will be right back too. Jake is over the moon and really happy for you."
I shouldn't have said that, both our faces fell. She let go of the fabric of her dress and looked at me sympathetically, giving me a sad smile. I lost myself in thought as I downed my glass of champagne. She took the glass from my hand with a serious look and leaned down to hug me.
"Hannah, this is your big day. This isn't about me and my feelings. I'm not going to ruin your day with my misery, I just shouldn't have mentioned him." I fought a smile, but Hannah didn't buy it.
"Ruby, my sweet mouse. Stop putting yourself in the background. Yes, this is my big day, but I know how difficult it is for you. After all, you had to call off your wedding because of his new job. I miss Jake too and he'll get a good lecture from me when he gets back from his meeting."
Hannah actually managed to make me smile. The image of little Hannah standing in front of big Jake and snapping at him made me laugh. She joined in my laughter, and shortly afterward Jessy and Lilly came into the room. The three exchanged a look I couldn't interpret, but I waved it off.
Lilly gave Hannah a cup of tea that she asked for. Hannah took a sip and shook her head in disgust, "Ugh, it's totally cold." She looked at me begging and whined, "Ruby, please?"
"Fine, give me the cup."
She smiled like a little child and gave me the cup. She was right, the cup was totally cold. I took the cup in both hands and let all my heat flow into my hands. A short time later the tea was steaming.
I recently decided to tell the group everything about myself, including my powers. Lilly was always super excited to watch, this time she gave me a disappointed look, "Aw man, I thought you were going to use a flame to heat it."
"Lilly, I just wanted to heat the tea and not set the room on fire," I said, laughing.
She rolled her eyes but laughed too. Jessy stepped forward a bit and looked at me pityingly, "Thomas asked about you, Ruby. I have no idea why."
I looked at Hannah and she gave me permission to leave with a nod. So, I made my way in my dark blue dress, which went down to my knees. The other girls wore the exact same dress. Hannah decided on the color, but we were allowed to choose the dress.
