Amber POV

"What do you mean you lost the baby?!" I cried out.

Panic shot through me like a gigantic bolt of lightning. She told me that she lost the baby to the kidnappers. I paced the room tearing my hair as Hannah's agonized sobs burned into my brain. I searched for suitable words to calm her down, but nothing came to mind. Words wouldn't be enough to calm her down either, nothing would calm her down.

"We had such trouble getting pregnant and when it finally worked-" Her voice broke.

My heart ached for her. "I'm so sorry Hannah."

"It is not your fault," she sobbed.

"I know but I am sorry that this happened to you. You don't deserve this."

I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I turned around and Jake's worried eyes watched through me, asking to get the phone.

"Hannah?"

"Yes?"

"Jake wants to talk to you. Is that ok for you?"

"Y- Yes."

I gave Jake my phone and quickly put my sweatpants on. My mom looked at me, a little shocked but it seemed she wanted to talk to me. I pecked Jake and left the bedroom with mom, closing the door behind me. She sat on the sofa next to dad, leaving some space for me to sit between the two.

Okay....

We are going to have a talk it seems.

"Okay, what is it? I know this behavior." I asked.

Both looked at me in surprise. Dad smiled a little embarrassed and his eyes darted to mom asking for help. She giggled and ruffled my hair.

"Hey!" I bitched but laughed. "So?"

"Well," mom started. "Dad and I are a couple again and-" I interrupted her, "Oh my God! That's great!"

I gasped, "Wait there was an and? And what? And you are pregnant? Oh this is amazing!"

"No, we are not pregnant! We're not, are we?" Dad suddenly asked, a little unsure.

"No, I'm not pregnant," she giggled. "And we wanted to ask you and Cindy if it would be ok for you if we get back together."

"If it would be ok?! Are you kidding me? This is the best thing I've heard in the last months!"

"So is it ok for you?" Mom asked.

"You even ask that! Of course that's ok with me! More than okay! That's amazing!"

"We are very happy about that!" Dad cheered. "We would also like to ask Cindy, but she doesn't want any visitors just yet."

"Oh?"

"Yes, she has lost a lot of blood, is tired and frustrated. Aiden will write to us when she's ready to have visitors."

"Oh poor Cindy. I hope she is doing well," I said worriedly.

I really hoped so. I hope that the two will finally have peace when they are allowed to go home with their baby. It was kind of weird that my sister who was five years younger had had a child. But I was really happy for them both.

"I can't wait to see when you and Jake get there," dad chuckled.

I gulped hard, looking to the ground. Dad caught my gaze and so did Mom and immediately their faces fell.
