Chapter Fourteen: King's Rage

Sono was having a conversation with Tyandra. She was undecided regarding the protection bracelet, she didn't know whether to give it to Source right away or wait.

"My queen, please do not give up now." Tyandra begged her numerous times.

"Glory will burn this kingdom to the ground, you have to take it back. Take this," she handed Sono a white powder and closed her palm. "Make sure your fist stays closed until you blow it to the king's face. It will make him fall asleep for a few minutes."

Sono sucked in some air and finally nodded. She didn't hesitate, she quickly teleported to the palace, she was still wearing both bracelets. She landed on her old bedroom, but there she was again with being undecided. She couldn't decide whether to leave the bracelet on the nightstand or to force him to wear it.

At that moment, she heard incoming footsteps. She stared at her closed palm and quickly hid behind the door. Source opened the door and closed it. He got startled when he saw Sono, then his face automatically became angry, "what are you--" Sono blew the temporary sleeping powder on Source's face. He staggered in a lightly dazed manner until he fell down on the floor. Sono quickly pulled the bracelet Source was wearing, breaking its thread, its beads became scattered on the floor.

She took the protection bracelet and put in on Source's wrist. She didn't want to stay to see how he was going to be after he woke up.  She stared at him with tears coming out of her eyes, "please come back." She disappeared.

A few minutes later, memories of how Glory used him -- came flooding his mind until a gasp became a sign he was awake. Remorse attacked him in an instant. He felt very sick, he rushed to the bathroom. After he came out, he was a cleansed man.

He didn't waste any time, he guarded his guards and commanded them to go to the forest and search for Glory. He went with them. The guards were carrying their weapons.

They marched to the forest and began their search, with king Source leading. Source was angry and he hated himself, the memory of hitting Sono kept haunting him, and that fuelled his anger more than anything.

They went to her cabin, they searched but they didn't find her. Some of Source's guards were carrying lamps and some were carrying fuel. Source took fuel on one of them and poured it around her cabin -- inside. He ordered his guards out, he took a lamp, stepped back and threw it hard on the floor. He stood and watched the fire as it grew gradually.

"My king, let's go!" One of his guards called. Source listened and they left.

Meanwhile, Glory was still resting by the river. Abruptly, she trembled. She nervously rushed up and frantically looked around to see any sign of Shinobia, "something is not right. My cabin, maybe." She started running, rushing to see the condition of her cabin.

Glory bumped into one of Source's guards, she yelped and staggered down. The guard grabbed her arm, "the king wants to see you," he said softly. "I found her!" He shouted. Everyone including Source came rushing to that direction.

"My love," Glory pouted. Source violently grabbed her chin, "don't call me that," he grunted. "Tie her up, we're going to her cabin."

After they have arrived, the cabin was still in flames. "No... no..
my cabin," she said sounding exhausted. "You took everything from me."

"Source, I love you. I did it for love."

"Silence!"

"I saved your life!"

"Yeah? Well, what did you do?"

Glory didn't answer.

"Answer me!" Source roared.

Glory trembled in shock, "a demon wanted me to give it your soul, but I refused."

"More lies... decapitate her."

"No... no! Source, please, please... I saved your life," Glory cried.

"No. You ruined it. You took my wife and my son away from me."

He took an axe from one guard, "hold her still."

Glory didn't beg anymore, instead, she got angry, "you know what?... I swear that one day I will come back and see an end to the Hudson and Mathosi clan. Kill me, but I will come back." She turned her head down and accepted her fate. Source looked at her and quickly axed her, Glory's head got separated from her body. And that was the end of her.
