"Don't you get it? You know when you try to run away, punishment like this happens." he said teasingly, squeezing my chest. I gasped for air, I really didn't try to run away. They're overreacting!

It's almost 3 in the afternoon, I was supposed to meet Roy at 2:40, I am running super late today. I'm not usually this late but I had to do something first before leaving. I hope he doesn't mind me being late.
It has been more than a year and a half since I last saw him, he was busy with this prestigious university he got into, it should be easy for him. He is one smart kid. Always at the top of the class, he is more educated than most teachers.
He wasn't even shocked or surprised when he got into a very prestigious university, Royal University. It stood for power, upper-class and prominent. The term Royal comes from old French "Roial" which came from Latin "Regial" meaning regal or king, from what I heard. This university has a long history. I was so happy for him, happy tears wouldn't stop falling from my eyes. I remembered my eyes becoming really swollen after that.
Roy invited me to this really expensive cafe in New York, I heard it just opened and it's already famous. He told me the owners are a good friend of his, they're a married old couple, really sweet.
I was just around the corner when I spotted Roy near a window seat. As always he's carrying a book. I walked a little faster and walked through the glass door with a dark wooden frame. The bell on top of the door rang, making Roy look away from his book and made eye contact with me.
I walked over to him and sat down, happy to hear why he called me out like this in a really long time.
Took him about half a minute for him to start talking. "How have you been?" He asked, his voice certainly gotten deeper the past year, I almost didn't even recognize it. "Awesome, what about you?" I asked back.
He closed his book and placed it down on the dark wooden table, almost the same as the one on the glass door I just entered through. "Good. I heard you still haven't gotten into any university yet." He said, changing the subject.
"I'm not sure if I want to go, plus I have plenty of time. I'm actually trying to find a job first." I told him. He just gave me a hum while drinking his coffee. I haven't talked to him in a while so it felt really awkward.
"Want me to help?" He asked, it sounded more forceful.
Man, he has changed a lot...How can a person change this much in a year?
"How?" I looked at him with my eyebrow narrowed. I noticed his mouth twitched a little as a little smile appeared on his face. "You should apply for this university."
"This university? What university?" I asked him, he flipped his tablet over and showed me the university, this was the university he's going to now. "Are you kidding me?! No way I'm going there." I told him."It's too much! I probably won't get in anyway."
"You're the same as always, underestimating yourself." He let out a chuckle and handed me a notecard. It only has the date written on it. "What's this for?" I took the notecard and lifted up to the light, able to see the other blank side of it then putting it back down on the wooden table.
