Chapter 7.

I studied Niall as he drove me back to his home. His facial features were beautiful. His jaw line was well defined and he was clean shaven. His eyes were bright in the daylight, reflecting everything that was in his sight back off of them. His plump lips appeared a pale pink color and were soft looking, their fullness looking smaller as he pushed his lips together. He noticed me observing him, and turned his head toward me. Goosebumps came across my skin as he lightly smirked at me, saying nothing. I quickly turned my head towards the window, and I looked at the dull street we were driving on through the window.

Once the vehicle stopped and was in park, Niall got out and quickly ran around the car so he could open my car door for me. I smiled at his gentleman-like gesture, took his hand, and stepped out of his car. I looked around and noticed it was a park, quiet with a small family and several groups of friends and couples. I tried to pull my hand away from Niall's, but his grip tightened as he felt my hand almost leave his touch. I looked away from him and sighed, returning my hand to the original position it had been in in Niall's hand. He intertwined our fingers, brought our hands up to his mouth, and gently kissed the top of my hand. I intently watched him, my expression blank while he did so, and began to walk into the park, pulling Niall along.

The grip he had on me was always tight, afraid that if he let me go in public, I would run away. I would run away if I got the chance. I would go back to my house and never see him again. It's not that I didn't enjoy his presence a lot of the time, but it was the fact that he abducted me while he was completely cocked and couldn't let me go. I didn't understand the joy he got from having me around, but it was apparent at all times. We walked in silence. I looked away from him, catching glimpses of the scenery, dimly colored but beautiful.

Niall stopped walking and squeezed my hand tight to pull me out of my thoughts, to realize he had stopped walking. He pulled me onto a grass area away from the sidewalk we were walking on, and pulled me in for a kiss. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me close to him, our lips ever so gently touching. His body was warm and comforting. I felt safe in his arms, but I also felt like I was in danger while he touched me. His touch was gentle, but it hid anger and harshness behind it.

He pulled away from the kiss and slightly loosened his grip on me. He hopped down on the ground and extended his legs out in front of him. He gently patted on the ground, gesturing for me to sit down with him. I sat down keeping a safe distance from him, crossing my legs and looking out into the greenery of the park that was spotted with people.

We sat in silence for a few moments before I spoke up.

"So, you're from Ireland. What are you doing here in London?" I asked, not quite sure of what to say. I felt uncomfortable by the silence. Niall paused a moment before answering.

"Well," he said, his accent thick, "when I was 13, both of my parents passed away in a car accident. I was in the back seat. We were on the way home from a school function that I was a part of. I was angry at the world. My only family I have now, my aunt and my uncle, took me in after that. They live here in London. They're like my parents now. They mean everything to me."

I was shocked at what Niall had said. My heart ached for him. He looked forward, avoiding contact with me. I studied his face, his eyes slowly filling with tears. It was so abnormal for me to see someone that I had gotten used to seeing as a big, strong man as someone so vulnerable. I let out a sigh and lightly grasped his hand. First, he pulled away from my touch, but he then set his hand back down on the ground and let me hold his hand. I moved closer next to him and resting my head on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, Niall. I had no idea. I wouldn't have asked," I said to him, gently squeezing on his hand. I lifted my head off of his shoulder and pressed my lips against his cheek. He slowly shook his head and smiled.

"You don't need to apologize, Scarlett. It's not your fault," he told me. He turned his head towards me and gave me a warm smile, filling my body with butterflies. At this very moment, I felt complete. The inside of my body was warm with the comfort Niall was beginning to make me feel. His blue eyes were large and flawless, like they held an entire ocean. They connected with my eyes and I forcefully pushed my lips against his, passionately kissing him. He was taken aback by my instant change of attitude towards him, but began to kiss me back. He grabbed me by my waist and guided me so I was sitting on his lap, facing him, straddling his hips. I let my tongue slip into his mouth, and instantly it was a fight for dominance. Niall didn't like the fact that I even wanted dominance over him, so he swiftly flipped us over and laid me on the ground, him laying on the side of me, propped up by one elbow. He laid his other hand on my stomach, cautious of where to put it because we were in public.

I brought one hand up to his head, grabbing a fistful of his soft brown/blonde hair and pushing him into me. He let his hand on my stomach linger up my body until his fingers were under my neck, slightly helping support it. The dominance Niall had over me was somewhat scary, but it also was comforting and attractive at the same time. The lust I had for him built up inside of me every time he had power over me.

He pulled away from me and laid on his back, next to me.

"So, you're from America. What are you doing here in London?" He asked me, mimicking what I said earlier. I looked up at they grey, cloudy sky and furrowed my eyebrows, trying to think.

"Well," I started, "I grew up in a really small town. Everybody knew everybody, and gossip spread like wildfire. I was so sick of it. I was sick of everyone knowing all of my business, most of which wasn't even true. I had to get out of there, as far away as possible. I realized that there were so many opportunities to make a new life here in London, alone, so soon after I turned 18, I left." Niall nodded his head, listening to my story.

"I could be your new opportunity," he gently spoke in a hushed tone, probably afraid of what I would say back. I turned my head towards him to see him already looking at me, pure innocence in his eyes.

"I hope you're my new opportunity," I replied, looking him directly in his eyes. The corners of his mouth turned upward into a smile, his bright, white, perfectly aligned teeth showing. His eyes sparkled, turning an even brighter blue. The happiness that was on his face reflected onto mine, biting my full lip which was turned into a smile.

He turned his head back up to the sky, his smile still apparent, while I kept my eyes on him, emulating his smile.

"You're beautiful," he added, softly, keeping his eyes on the grey sky. I felt my cheeks get pink and I looked away from him, trying to cover my embarrassment. Nobody had ever called me beautiful before, and by the tone of his voice you could tell that he was sincere in his compliment. My smile became oversized as I replayed his words over and over in my head. I rolled over onto my side and laid my head on Niall's chest as he brought his arm around me, keeping me close to him. At this moment I realized I could love Niall Horan.
